Now open in Star City and just off Broad Street, @shrimpandco.co have become one of my go to seafood spots [ad/invite]

Featuring the Captains Platter (£37) which had 30 Shrimp with two sides, I SeaFood I Eat It Boil for two (£60) which contained shrimps, mussels, calamari, sausage, potato, corn, boiled egg and came with rice and chips and the Deckhand Crunch Tenders (£8.50)

This was my third visit and I order the same dishes every timee. The food is consistently delicious and I think these are pretty reasonable prices for seafood! Will definitely be back again.

£5 pancakes all day tomorrow for @fluffyfluffyuk ‘s new opening! 🥞 [ad/invite]

Featuring the Signature (£9.70) which was topped with banana, berries, cream and maple syrup, the Biscoff (£10) which was topped with Biscoff crumbs, sauce and cream. To drink, we grabbed the Strawberry Matcha (£4.80) and Yuzu Lemonade (£4.40).

The Pancakes are airy, light and fluffy - everything you want from a Japanese Pancake. The Signature was my favourite - the Pancakes are very indulgent and pair well with lighter flavours in my opinion.
Their competitor Kumo is cheaper but they have more topping options here. Also be prepared to wait - these style of pancakes take around 20 mins to cook.

Good Naga Wings and Mango Sticky Rice are the way to my heart 🫶🏼

Featuring Naga wings (3 for £5.95), Dynamite Chicken Sando (£9.95), Mrs. G’z Box (£17.95) which contained a Smashburger, Lamb Kababish, Mac & Cheese, 2 Tenders & Fries, the Steak (£14.95) with Mash and Peppercorn Sauce, Mango Sticky Rice and Brownie Explosion (£5.95 each)

✔️The Naga Wings had the naga flavour spot on balanced with a sweet sauce. The Steak was sirloin, perfectly cooked and great value for money. The Sando was delicious - cheesy creamy and loaded with chicken, would definitely reorder. The Mango Sticky Rice was comforting and nostalgic.
I had their Karak Tea on another occasion which I’d also recommend.
✖️The Smash Burger had a relish which we weren’t a fan of but they said they’re working on this. Also not a fan of their Chicken Parmesan I tried on another occasion too.

We found the viral French pastries in Birmingham!🍍🥥🍓🍫 Location at the end

We got the Pina Colada, Strawberry and Peanut (around £5-6 each), Flat White (£2.60) and Latte (£2.40) from @la_brioche_birmingham

The Pina Colada was our favourite - the casing was like a kinder egg with milk & white chocolate, filled with coconut mousse and pineapple pieces. The Peanut was our second favourite - it wasn’t sweet and was filled with crunchy peanut butter. The Strawberry was nice but not something I’d order again. I’ll be back try the mango and cocoa ones😍
Great coffee and breakfast here too - always been a La Brioche fan!

🇧🇩The perfect Bengali Western Fusion is offered on @shazanz1 latest menu [ad/invite]

Featuring the Sherpuri Tacos which were a crunchy taco filled with spicy donner, Sweet Corn ribs and Grilled Prawns for starters. For mains, the Seafood Bucket which contained fried and grilled seafood including Lobster, Calamari, Prawns & potatoes, Sherpuri Pie which was like a shepherds pie but with Sherpuri donner instead, Fish and Chips and Masala Chips

Shazans have been around for over 20 years and are well known for their Sherpuri Donner. And I’m so glad to see them being fresh and innovative with their classic flavours.
I also love how evidently proud they are of being Bengali through their decor, music and dishes.
Some of my favourites were the Grilled Prawns, Sweetcorn ribs and Tacos - these were so fresh and well flavoured. The Fish & Chips was the showstopper - tender fish, perfect batter and the curry sauce was delicious.

Weekend brunch dates at @cafevalor.birmingham

Featuring The Royal Desi Breakfast (£13.90) which had Desi Scrambled Eggs, Masala Potatoes, Saag, Masala Channa & Lamb Keema with parathas, The Royal Full English Breakfast (£13.90) which had Beans, Mushrooms, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Turkey Rashers, Hash Brown, Tomatoes & Toast, Flat White (£3.30) Karak Chai (£2.90) and Pistachio Knafe Cake.

The Desi Breakfast was the star of the show - enough for two people, plenty of variety, authentic spicy curries, fresh and tasty. The English Breakfast was well made and a very generous portion again. Wasn’t a huge fan of the Pistachio Cake as it lacked substance.
They’ve changed their menu and concept completely from when I last visited and it’s serving them very well - they were super busy!

A must try for all seafood lovers @shrimpshackco
Shrimp Shack has branches in London & Birmingham. This store is located just off Broad Street and they will be opening another soon in Star City [ad/invite]

Featuring the Sailors Platter (£29) which included 20 Prawns, Rice, Corn and Mac & Cheese, the Seafood Boil Platter which had Shrimps, Mussels, Calamari, Crab, Potato, Egg and Sausage (£39) served with Rice and Chips and finally the Grilled Lobster (£40) with Garlic Butter, Veg and Mash.

This place is a seafood lovers dream - all the fish is fresh, perfectly cooked and well flavoured. The Seafood Boil had a good amount of fish and the sauce was quite unique in that it was creamy. The prawns on the Sailors Platter were naturally sweet and very tender. The Lobster had a lot of meat on it and was well cooked. I wasn’t a fan of the Rice or the Mac & cheese but the Chips and Mash were perfect accompaniments.
The mocktails were huge and almost seemed to be never ending!

Nashville Chicken & Ice Cream Sandos @daftbird.uk

Featuring the Nashville Sando Meal (£8.49) which is filled with Nashville tenders, cheese, coleslaw and mayo, Chilli Jam Rice Bowl (£9.99) - chilli jam chicken with coconut rice, salad and coleslaw, Peri Burger - crispy chicken fillet, peri sauce, cheese and coleslaw with fries and Chicken Wings (£5.99) in lemon and herb, peri peri and buffalo.
To finish we tried the Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sando

I would go back just for the Ice Cream Sando - a warm brioche bun stuffed with luscious salted caramel ice cream - the contrast in temperature and texture was delightful. And for the Nashville Sando - I’m very picky when it comes to good Nashville chicken and they captured the flavour perfectly. I wasn’t a fan of the Rice Bowl or Buffalo sauce but I think that’s personal preference as I don’t like super sweet mains!

One of my go to places for the weekend has become @ladanacafe

Featuring the Club Sandwich (£8.95) which contains grilled chicken, fried egg, turkey rashers, tomato, lettuce & spicy mayo with coleslaw/fries, the Veggie (£9.50) which contains fried/scrambled egg, beans, hash bites, mushrooms, veggie kofta, tomato, toast. On the 2nd slide: The English Breakfast (£10.95) which contains similar but with turkey rashers and lamb sausages and the Benedict Royale (£8.95) which was served with lyonnaise potatoes. Drinks were Chaii Latte (£3.25) and Iced Spanish Pistachio Latte (£5.25)

Ladana’s brunch menu has massively improved since they first launched years ago. Its has quickly become one of my favorite weekend brunch spots, offering both quality food and a relaxed atmosphere— especially with their outdoor seating, perfect for sunny days. The quality of food is consistent and shines through in every dish—eggs cooked to perfection, fresh smoked salmon, and premium sausages. They also do one of the best Iced Pistachio lattes I’ve had in Birmingham.

Trying out the Nashville vs Classic range at @eatsides [Ad/Invite]

Featuring the Nashville Burger and the Classic Burger (£7.99 each) with Nashville Waffle Fries (£2.99) and 6 Nashville Wings (£6.99)

The Burgers were filled with a pretty big fillet and was quite juicy. You can choose how spicy you want your Nashville flavour so we tried the Hot and Medium flavours - they were not spicy enough at all. I liked the Wings - they were juicy and the coating was good - but again it needed a lot more spice.
The Classic Burger was a pretty standard Chicken Burger - pleasant but nothing crazy.
Overall I’d only return back if I was in the area as it’s a decent halal option in Merry Hill.
