One of my favorite traditions is remembering our family who has passed and honoring our ancestors. May they walk beside us today and every day.

Your love lives on in us 🤎🖤🧡 by @elevatingcolor

Some days, the last thing I have energy for is one more thing on my to-do list.

But sometimes, after a long day of teaching, taking care of my family, and pouring so much of myself into the world around me, I find my way back to myself through art. 🎨

It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece.
It doesn’t have to be finished.
It doesn’t even have to make sense.

Sometimes, it’s just color on a page. A few brushstrokes. Some beads on a string. A little mess. A quiet moment where I don’t have to be anything for anyone else. And I’m instilling this in to my kids and my students, their mental health and nervous systems matters too.

I am so passionate about teaching people that creativity doesn’t always have to be about producing something. Sometimes, it’s about giving yourself permission to pause, breathe, and simply be.

So, if today has been a lot, maybe you don’t need to do more. Maybe you just need a little space to create something that’s entirely yours. 🤎

When was the last time you made something just for the joy of it?

🧘‍♀️ Yoga is more than a pose…

Lately, I’ve been feeling a little stuck in my own journey. Between the expectations I place on myself, the things I want to accomplish, and the reality of everyday life, it’s easy to feel like I’m not moving forward fast enough.

But I’m reminding myself that THIS IS yoga. It’s not just about the poses. It’s about learning to meet myself where I am, practicing patience when things feel uncertain, moving through life with grace, practicing compassion, spreading joy & love and giving myself permission to be a work in progress.

Some days, growth looks like pushing yourself. Other days, it looks like resting, breathing, and simply showing up & meeting yourself exactly where you’re are.

I’m still learning. Still growing. Still finding my way back to myself, one breath at a time. 🌿

The human experience IS the yoga practice ✨

If you’ve been feeling stuck lately, I hope you know you’re not alone. 💛

Just a little reminder. Art is something that can be beautiful. We can make beautiful things. We can make amazing things. But my biggest love for it comes from the place that it teaches us to slow down, think outside of the box and step back to look at the bigger picture.

A morning my mantra for you 💖

I am allowed to grow at my own pace.

I do not need to have it all figured out. I can rest, begin again, and trust that even the quietest seasons are part of my becoming.

There is something waiting on the other side of all this, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Change is constant, breathe with that ✌🏻 by @elevatingcolor

A gentle reminder as the seasons shift 🧡🍁💛

You don’t have to rush into what’s next.
You don’t have to hold on to what was.

Just breathe.
Wander.
Notice.
Be here.

There is beauty in the becoming,
but there is magic in the now. 🌿#stressrelief #mindfulness #anxietyrelief #naturebath #changewiththeseasons by @elevatingcolor

This week in the art room we are celebrating #nationalhispanicheritagemonth love to see what the kids do for their papel picado creations! by @elevatingcolor

The first few weeks in my art room. It’s been taking a bit of adjusting to be teaching art to elementary students but also in a homeschool setting. Lots of learning 🩷 but during my time away I focused on healing, my self worth, and confidence as a teacher. Looking forward to finding out how this path will unfold 🦋

Music really IS life 🎶🎤

The songs that we love 💗 sometimes we just dance to the rhythm or beats, and then there’s other times when it touches our soul. Times where we feel less alone, or reminds us of love & joy.

I’ll be honest, my mental health has not been at its best these past few weeks. I’ve found it difficult to find motivation, be productive, or find joy. Anxiety has taken hold and the depressive thoughts have trickled in. I know that the light is just on the other side, my kids need and healthy mom…that’s what keeps me moving forward. Then I hear these lyrics today…

Touch me
Take me to another place
Teach me
I know I’m not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tulip fields clearing the sea out
See the bad boy fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with the lead in your mouth
After the flood all the colors came out.

That last line hit me so hard and had me in tears. I just wanted to take a moment to remind you that you’re not alone. What you’re going through is temporary. Change is constant.

So read your books that help you escape to the characters and lands that feel something. Listen to the music that touches your soul. Remember what fills your heart. Find your why. Find what feels good.

What you don’t have you don’t need it now.
What you don’t know you can feel it somehow.
