I have been working on my 5K time for several years now. This year has been full of ups & downs already, but I had the wise words of @tempisquito ringing in my ears when I set out on this fine Saturday morning - “just go out there and have fun”

Well, it didn’t take long for Reena’s Physician Assistant training to pay off. As we were leaving the GW commencement on the National Mall, an elderly woman took a spill and hit the back of her head on concrete. Reena was close by and she sprang into action, literally getting her hands dirty. She had gauze and applied pressure. She comforted the woman and reassured family members who were shaken up. Reena asked her questions to assess her mental state and simply to comfort her as the paramedics made their way over. It may have been a minor incident, but it made a big difference to the woman and her family members.

I’m immensely proud of her accomplishments, and I can’t wait to see how she brings her medical knowledge to bear and makes a dent in the universe. taken in The George Washington University by @elfethe

I don’t have a lot of traditions, but now I’ve gone to the end of the W&OD trail in December for 2 straight years. A tradition in the making?

Yesterday, I unlocked a major achievement. I completed my first triathlon. It has been a goal of mine to finish one before turning 40. The first photo is proof positive that I did so; we were asked to mark our age on our calf.
