Ru_pops: Something Red

Is there anything better than sailing into the sunset on a catamaran? Yes, when you do it against the backdrop of the stunning St Mark’s Square in Venice 😀
It looks to me as though the Cat guests are enjoying a drink too. In Venice, that’s an aperitivo. Yummy! 😋

But it gets even better. If you’re really, really lucky, you might spot "Mimmo" in the water during your trip. Because for the past year, the dolphin has been in love with La Serenissima too! 🐬

He’s often spotted near the boats. But with all those motorboats around, it’s very dangerous for him! ⚠️

So let’s keep our fingers crossed that nothing happens to him and that he gets to show off his swimming skills in this breathtaking spot for a long time to come! 🍀🍀🍀

Gibt es etwas Schöneres, als auf einem Katamaran in den Sonnenuntergang zu segeln? Ja, wenn ihr das vor dem wunderschönen Markusplatz in Venedig macht 😀

Für mich sieht es aus, als würden die Katamaran-Gäste auch einen Drink genießen. In Venedig ist das ein Aperitivo. Lecker! 😋

Aber es kommt noch besser. Wenn ihr richtiges Glück habt, entdeckt ihr bei eurem Ausflug "Mimmo" im Wasser. Denn seit einem Jahr liebt auch der Delfin die Serenissima! 🐬

Man sieht ihn oft in der Nähe der Schiffe. Aber zwischen den Motorbooten ist es für ihn sehr gefährlich! ⚠️

Drücken wir deshalb die Daumen, dass ihm nichts passiert und dass er noch lange seine Schwimmkünste an diesem atemberaubenden Ort zeigen kann! 🍀🍀🍀

Ru_pops: One

I’d actually intended to post a different photo today. But last night, a deadly attack took place at the Christopher Street Day in Berlin 💔

That’s why I want to use this photo to remind everyone how wonderful it is that there are cities where people can live freely without fear. Cities where people who are persecuted elsewhere can find refuge. Cities that stand up against hatred and discrimination. Love is stronger than hate! ❤️

I took this photo in London a few years ago. The world is colourful. And that’s wonderful! 🌈

Eigentlich hatte ich heute ein anderes Foto posten wollen. Doch gestern Abend gab es einen tödlichen Anschlag auf den Christopher Street Day in Berlin 💔

Deshalb möchte ich mit diesem Foto daran erinnern, wie schön es ist, dass es Städte gibt, in denen die Menschen ohne Angst frei leben können. Städte, in denen Menschen Zuflucht finden können, die woanders verfolgt werden. Städte, die sich gegen Hass und Diskriminierung einsetzen. Liebe ist stärker als Hass! ❤️

Dieses Foto habe ich vor einigen Jahren in London aufgenommen. Die Welt ist bunt. Und das ist schön! 🌈

Ru_pops: Line from a Song

🎵 The Cave - Mumford & Sons 🎵

La Caverne du Pont Neuf, the Pont Neuf Cave, was conceived by street artist @jr as a tribute to Christo & Jeanne-Claude, who wrapped the bridge 40 years ago. Unfortunately it was damaged by violent storms, which delayed the opening. That's why, during my visit to Paris, I wasn't able to experience that special cave-like atmosphere on the bridge 😪

The Cave is only on display for two weeks - just like the works of Christo & Jeanne-Claude - and tonight is your last chance to visit it.

So RUN, if you are in Paris! 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️😀

🎵 The song is a reference to Plato’s famous Allegory of the Cave. In order to overcome fears, one should turn away from the expectations of others and view things from a new, upside-down perspective. Like the artists 😊

La Caverne du Pont Neuf, die Höhle des Pont Neuf, wurde vom Streetart-Künstler @jr als Hommage an Christo & Jeanne-Claude konzipiert, die die Brücke vor 40 Jahren verhüllt hatten. Die Installation wurde kurz vor Eröffnung durch heftige Stürme beschädigt, wodurch sich die Eröffnung verzögerte. Deshalb konnte ich bei meinem Besuch in Paris, Anfang Juni, die besondere Atmosphäre auf der Brücke leider nicht erleben 😪

Wie die Werke von Christo & Jeanne-Claude ist auch La Caverne nur zwei Wochen lang zu sehen - und heute Nacht könnt ihr sie ein letztes Mal besuchen 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 😀

🎵 Das Lied ist eine Anspielung auf Platons berühmtes Höhlengleichnis. Um Ängste zu überwinden, soll man sich von den Erwartungen anderer befreien und die Dinge aus einer neuen, umgekehrten Perspektive betrachten. Wie die Künstler 😊

Ru_pops: Like a Painting

The artwork is by Gabriele Stötzer and it is currently on display at the wellknown Berlin gallery @gropiusbau . Stötzer is the first female artist from the former GDR to have her work exhibited there. She is also set to receive a prestigious German award this year: the "Kaisering", an art prize awarded by the city of Goslar🏆

Die Kunstwerke sind von Gabriele Stötzer und derzeit in der Berliner Galerie @gropiusbau zu sehen. Stötzer ist die erste Künstlerin aus der ehemaligen DDR, deren Werk dort ausgestellt wird. Raw_Challenge: Yellow

Here’s another photo from the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, which is currently on display at @museumludwig in Cologne.

You can see Kusama’s famous polka dots in one of her walk-in installations. The room seems infinitely large because everything is endlessly reflected 🟡🟡🟡

Ru_Pops: Art and Edits - Leading lines Raw_Challenge: Bad Hair

For the past few months my feed had been nothing but snow and ice, but now I'm finally switching things up a bit- yeah 😎

Can you spot the bad hair? It's there, I swear 😀

On days when your hair is doing its own thing I recommend a visit in a museum. People are completely focused on the exhibits and won't even notice your hair 😇

This photo is from the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, currently on view at @museumludwig in Cologne. It's very interesting and well worth a visit.

Kusama's most famous trademarks are countless polka dots in bright colors and walk-in installations featuring mirrors and lights. The rooms seem infinitely large because everything is endlessly reflected 🔴🔵⚪

Since some rooms are so popular, the time you can spend in them is very limited 😪 But it's no problem to go back in. Just watch out for the lines. My tip: Try to get there early.

If you can't make it to the exhibition in Cologne, there's another chance: this fall in Amsterdam 😊

Seht ihr das „bad hair“? Es ist da, ich schwöre 😀

An Tagen, an denen eure Haare ihren eigenen Kopf haben 😁 empfehle ich einen Museumsbesuch. Die Leute sind auf die Exponate konzentriert und werden eure Strubbelfrisur gar nicht bemerken 😇

Dieses Foto stammt aus der Yayoi-Kusama-Ausstellung, die derzeit im @museumludwig in Köln zu sehen ist. Sie ist sehr interessant und unbedingt einen Besuch wert.

Kusamas bekannteste Markenzeichen sind unzählige Punkte (Polka-Dots) in leuchtenden Farben und begehbare Installationen mit Spiegeln und Lichtern. Die Räume wirken unendlich groß, weil sich alles endlos spiegelt 🔴🔵⚪

Da einige Räume so beliebt sind, ist die Zeit, die man in ihnen verbringen darf, stark begrenzt 😪 Aber es ist kein Problem, erneut hineinzugehen. Achtet nur auf die Warteschlangen. Mein Tipp: Versucht, so früh wie möglich da zu sein.

Im Herbst geht die Ausstellung nach Amsterdam 😊

Raw_Challenge: Windows View / Day 21 Weekend Vibes

In my last photo, I showed you a diving gondola. Today, I’m showing you one of its panoramic windows and the view of the frozen Baltic Sea ❄

Maybe you’re looking for livelier vibes on weekends? 🏄‍♀️🤸‍♀️💃 😀 But for me it was a perfect winter weekend - with spring just around the corner. This silent white sea is so rare to see - and disappeared far too quickly 😊

Auf meinem letzten Foto habe ich euch eine Tauchgondel gezeigt. Heute zeige ich euch den Blick auf die zugefrorene Ostsee durch eines ihrer Panoramafenster ❄

Vielleicht wollt ihr am Wochenende etwas mehr Trubel? 😀 Aber für mich war es ein perfektes Winterwochenende, an dem der Frühling schon vor der Tür stand. Dieses stille, weiße Meer ist so selten zu sehen und verschwand viel zu schnell 😊

Raw_Challenge: Vintage

This laaarge mushroom is a diving gondola that actually works - provided the Baltic Sea isn't frozen over 😀

As it descends four meters, visitors can observe the underwater world through the panoramic windows. Unfortunately, I haven't tried it myself yet 😌

In the video you can see how the Baltic Sea is slowly starting to move again 🌊

Dieser grooosse Pilz ist eine Tauchergondel, die tatsächlich funktioniert - vorausgesetzt die Ostsee ist nicht zugefroren 😀

Während sie vier Meter tief absinkt, können die Besucher durch die Panoramafenster die Unterwasserwelt beobachten. Ich selber habe es leider noch nicht ausprobiert 😌

Im Video könnt ihr sehen, wie die Ostsee langsam wieder Bewegung gerät 🌊
