🍂 Viva Folia - Waltz of the dancing Leaves & Bugs by L Hariz

For flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet & bassoon.
Light, lyrical, playful, autumn in motion.

I’ve just picked the flute back up and giving a go at composing. This piece is one of my first steps. An autumn ballroom where leaves and bugs are the dancers.

🎼 Score & YouTube link in bio.

“Mothallus”

Was once an ordinary insect, mutated by exposure to an ancient toxin that seeped into its habitat. The transformation left it with grotesque axe-like appendages where its abdomen once was and gave its wings a sharp, unnatural shape, ending in twin tails for stability in its chaotic flights.

Its eyes multiplied, two on each of its faces and a single, ominous one on its chest. The creature now drifts through shadowed forests, feared by all who encounter it, as its very presence feels like an omen of calamity.

“Starlight Runner”

Reposting some designs from a group in facebook.

Where the challenge is to create a creature/character from items/themes provided

The Starlight Runner, is a legendary being that traverses the void between worlds, its quills glowing with the colors of distant stars. According to ancient myths, each quill holds the power of a star it has visited, making it both revered and feared by cosmic travelers.

The Starlight Runner is said to emerge during meteor storms, racing alongside falling stars and granting a fleeting wish to those who can catch sight of its multi-eyed gaze. While its origins remain a mystery, some believe it is a guardian of celestial balance, ensuring no single star dims before its time. Others claim it is a harbinger of great cosmic events, appearing only when the universe itself is about to shift.
