Studio Tally has always been about more than just the equipment - movement is in the name for a reason. I’m so excited to start bringing more ways to move to the studio!

I’m hoping to launch our first mat classes towards the end of October, and I’d love to know what you’d like to see on the timetable!

MEET OUR NEW INSTRUCTOR ELI 🤎

I asked Eli some questions & thought you’d love to getting to know him better!

Where are you from and what brought you back to Devon?
I’ve recently moved back from New Zealand in search of some new challenges, I had seen how popular Reformer Pilates was becoming on this side of the world & really wanted to check it out!

How did you get into Pilates?
I’ve always had admiration for my coaches within high-level sport & was inspired to teach group fitness. Upon completing my Personal Training qualifications, I had come across a Reformer Pilates studio and was instantly hooked on the training concept.

You taught Reformer Pilates in New Zealand for 8 years, tell us a little about your experience there!
I was lucky enough to discover Reformer just before its explosion in popularity and have taken immense pride in teaching across Auckland’s top studios. It’s incredibly popular over there and I am so grateful to have introduced so many members to the world of Reformer.

What do you love most about teaching Reformer?
Setting a challenge for someone and assisting them to reach it every single session, then seeing them grow in confidence & strength is a real privilege and I really enjoy being part of a team/community. It’s an incredibly healthy job!

How would you describe your teaching style?
Engaging, motivational and supportive. I really like to make each class an immersive experience, combining a great workout with even better music and a welcoming atmosphere 😊

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about Pilates?
Its versatility! Absolutely anyone can benefit from its principles. I would also really like to see more men giving it a go too, it’s been a constant challenge battling the stereotypes around it but it’s a lot of fun seeing people who may have been sceptical at first, opening their eyes to a whole new world of health + fitness 💪🏽

What can clients expect from your Studio Tally classes?
To be supported and pushed to find your potential every class and hopefully have quite a bit of fun doing it!

Celebrating Eli 🤍

This is Eli’s last week teaching at Kenkō, and we wanted to mark it properly.

He’s been a big part of this studio. Always encouraging, brings the energy, banging playlists, and classes that challenged you without ever losing the warmth.

And our community felt it every time:

Just like that ‘I’m going to’ has turned to ‘I have’. Will never forget my blessings for being lucky enough to realise this life long dream. My cup is so ridiculously full you will never wipe the smile from my face. It was like meeting my hero’s and the serenity of this beautiful town will be my happy place as long as I live.
