Sometimes it gets frustrating in song and worship—frustrating because there’s so much more, and at the end of that road of the moment of seeking, you’re met with the realization that this road’s distance is a lifetime.

This is the reality of Romans 8:26 to me.

From the Inside Out.

I remember the first time I heard this song. I was in high school driving my new (to me) ‘96 dark maroon Ford Explorer. I had just picked up the “United We Stand” CD and was so anxious to hear each track and how it compared to “Look to You”, which is, in my opinion, one of the best worship albums of all time by @hillsongunited.

And in that moment on the Cimarron Turnpike between my small hometown and the Keystone Bridge with Tulsa in my sights (IYKYK), words were finally put to the yearning and angst in my heart in a way I sure wish could have been mine to begin with.

To me, this song is the perpetual cry of every person and generation who knows the Lord, and the starting point for a heart of discipleship.

I pray that you have a very special moment with the Lord as you sit with Him during this week’s devotion. May your heart begin to burn even more for Jesus! 🙏🏼
