1yr since being deported back to NZ.
A lot of tears shed, long nights, dark thoughts and lonely days. No one told me it was going to be this hard.

Within this 1yr I’ve had to go thru some hardship and pain, I had to accept some hard truth about myself and really take a good look in the mirror and make tough decisions. My past wasn’t the prettiest, I hurt alot of people, I put my family thru the worse times and also put them at risk. All of this came from a young me with a big ego, thinking I was untouchable.

I didn’t know anything but violence, violence was the key to everything, violence was all I knew and all I saw growing up. But now being where I am I have come to understand why I did what I did, but still doesn’t give me or anyone the right to think violence is the answer. No man likes to be told what to do, or let his pride down. I never took help when needed, never did I think I needed help, but that was all just a cover up of the shame I thought I’d get if I said yes to getting help.

Fast forward 1yr, I’m here in nz now I’ve accepted my downfalls, I’ve learnt that what I saw wasn’t the way to handle things, and just because violence was all I knew didn’t mean that’s how I should be, just because I resolved to violence for so long doesn’t mean I have to remain the same.

Although I’m still in the midst of learning still and trying to better myself, I can happily say that the person I am today, is better then the person I was yesterday.

Being deported has been nothing but a blessing in disguise. I am happier now more then ever because I have a better understanding in my journey and why it happened. This was never part of Gods plan to make me a deportee, but it’s because of Gods promise that I am blessed and still living, “ I will never leave you, nor forsake you”.

Remember just because you’ve done something for so long, doesn’t mean you have to be that way. Just because that’s all you know, doesn’t mean that’s all your going to be. We are all loved and deserve nothing but happiness.

6 MONTHS SOBER AND FOREVER TO GO.
Not training to lose weight anymore, but training because I’ve fallen in love with what comes with it. 🙌🏽

A once alcoholic now on the way to living life thru sober lenses. They say it’s HARD at the start but you will get use to it, but for me saying NO to alcohol has come easier than usual.

How?
When you’ve done too many WRONGS, it only leaves you wanting to do RIGHT, and that’s where I’m at NOW, trying to live according to the teachings of JESUS, and living life by doing RIGHT for MYSELF and for OTHERS TO BE BLESSED.

This could not have been possible without having JESUS as my foundation and a personal relationship with. Yes there a days I fall SHORT, I feel WEAK and that’s ok, we’re only HUMAN, but that doesn’t mean I GIVE UP !!

Special mention to my fiancé @sherrynglam this progress couldn’t have been possible without your ongoing patient and love for me. Your the WHY to my everything and I hope I can keep making you proud.

And to my family and friends who have helped me throughout my journey, THANK YOU. It’s an everyday battle and I’ll continue to do my best, thank you all for being my safe space and remembering me in your prayers, you all know who you are ❤️

Running my first marathon in honour of my father whose faith and strength helped overcome Cancer. You’ve won the real race dad, the pain and sweat leading up to this marathon can not compare to what you’ve gone through, so I dedicate this run to you 🤍 TEAM JESUS.

Best experience ever!
So glad we booked the Mad Tracker with @madcampersnz. Everything we imagined the camper van trip to be was exceeded.

To travel around our own backyard of NZ at our own pace, stopping wherever and whenever was my highlight of the trip.

Highly recommend doing the campervan trip chat, and ofcourse to book with the one and only @madcampersnz ☺️ by @elia.sila
