Designed in-House, Literally.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Super proud of Elijah & Alice for trusting in the process and executing on our vision - to design and manufacture something that people can use every day. They absolutely killed it today @risingco and the fact that they saw it through AND had fun gives me a feeling of deep satisfaction. Work is play, and play is work. Thank you to everyone who made it out to support us!! by @eliandaligoods

We are continuing our unit on juicing Calamanci fruits, aka the Philippine lime. It's so cool to see the kids think out loud as we define some of the problems we encounter squeezing them. We just broke into the prototyping phase and it's going to be a lot of fun failures! taken in Carlsbad, California by @eliandaligoods

This week is about super rough prototyping. The kids and I identified problems specific to squeezing calamansi fruits (a tangerine kumquat hybrid) and before getting into CAD we mocked up some ideas to get a general feel for things. Learned a lot in just an hour! taken in Carlsbad, California by @eliandaligoods

We're starting the school year investigating how to squeeze a Calamansi - a mini hybrid between a mandarin and a kumquat. Often juiced by lemon squeezers, but it hasn't really been given a purpose-built tool... It's like pruning a bonsai tree with sheep shears. taken in Carlsbad, California by @eliandaligoods

A while back, Elijah told me, "I want to create something that kids use every day". The family cup, perfectly sized for kid hands, was the outcome ❤️ taken in Littleton, Colorado by @eliandaligoods

We created a new instrument today called the Andpan, a multi-touch interface that's kind of a cross between a hand pan and a singing bowl. Since touchscreen can't register force for dynamics, you control volume by tapping close or far from the center of each tap zone. Then we added a singing bowl-ish sustain by circling your finger on any key. taken in Carlsbad, California by @eliandaligoods
