English post:
Dear pianists, piano enthusiasts, and teachers,

The book, titled Concert Etudes, consists of seven short pieces I have composed for my students both melodic and serving as technical exercises. The scores include Turkish/English notes explaining how each piece should be studied, as well as indicated difficulty levels. Simplicity and ease of performance have been prioritized in the notation.

Offering these works free of charge to the citizens of my country is my way of thanking Atatürk who founded the Ankara State Conservatory (from which I have graduated) in the early years of the Republic, who made it possible for me, as a woman, to receive an education, and who nurtured my growth as a musician.

This series will certainly continue; until then, receiving recordings of your performances of these pieces, in any form you can share them, would bring me great joy.

And how will you listen these musics? I will be posting them here one by one, of course, but before winter arrives, we will also see them on Spotify and countless other platforms.

This piece from Debussy’s Children’s Corner (1908) took me straight back to my early teenage years.
So should we call this theoretical time travel, or practical? 🤔

Debussy’nin Children’s Corner (1908) isimli albümüne ait bu parçayı çalarak ortaokul yıllarıma geri döndüm. Peki şimdi teorik olarak zamanda yolculuk mu diyeceğiz, pratik olarak mı? 🤔

Herkese iyi seneler! Happy new year to all! 🎄

Paylaşmak için yeni yılın ilk gününü beklediğim op.14 Minyatürler’in heyecanı içerisindeyim.

I’m filled with excitement for op.14 Miniatures, which I’ve been waiting to share on the very first day of the new year. Written between 2020–21, these three solo piano pieces aim toward a popular music language. One of them, Faith, is already familiar to you. With the recording of the other two, the set is now complete.

The painting by @ogulcanyigitozdemir , in which he portrayed me, a work that seems to come alive the longer you look at it added a refined elegance as the album cover. The magnificent Steinway at @itumiam studio offered exquisite colors, and in sound engineering, @esrefberkturkoglu truly took ownership of the album throughout the process. The result is a work that feels deeply right to me.

The level of technical difficulty is debatable; anyone who has spent 3–4 solid years at the piano should be able to play it comfortably. Student études (op.22) are also on the way, which is a topic of another post.

The premiere of my Orhan Veli Lieds op.20, which I composed last year, took place at the Lied Evening concert under the roof of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet, and what a lovely night it was. We enjoyed a truly tasteful recital in such an elegant atmosphere.
Many thanks to everyone who made this evening so special. You can find the three trailer-video of my pieces in this post.

A big thank you especially to the concert’s correpetitor, the wonderful pianist @handeucaryanc, and to my dear friend @mertovski -who I dedicated these pieces- for their brilliant performances.

Nocturne no.14
I performed this piece for my beloved boyfriend, as it’s one of his favorite pieces. Instead of playing it on my old piano, I was playing it on the wall, it sounded better that way.
