A change of pace with this post, as Cambodia has left a lasting impact on me.

Learning about a country that has endured so much hardship, even so recently has given me a perspective I’ll carry for a very long time. It’s made me reflect on how fragile life is and how easy it is to take things for granted, especially the privilege of education, something that would have cost me my life during the Khmer Rouge regime.

This is why I love travelling. It’s not always about the sights, landscapes or adrenaline filled activities. Sometimes you just need to slow down, listen, learn and immerse yourself in a culture that challenges the way you see the world.

Cambodia, thank you for a new perspective, one of hope, humility and the reminder to be grateful every single day. by @elijah_roewer
