Public art is never neutral. Where it is placed tells a story about who is seen, valued, and invested in. That choice matters.Culture serves the mobile, the informed, the confident, the privileged.Art loves to call itself universal. But access tells another story. If participation requires money, energy, health, confidence, and insider knowledge, it’s not neutral; it’s systematically exclusive.Art doesn’t solve structural inequality, but it can soften it, resist it, uplift, and remind people of their worth. The Power of Nature for the elderly will be continued with @terhiekebom @maria_bjorklund_artThe Art of Strength, a participatory public art concept for schools, will start with @superflinda and @ruusa_productionMessage me if you want to know more and/or collaborate. Be the change you want to see, as they say 💥💫Where would you want to see more accessible public art? 💬👇...📍My mural on Marjatta Foundation's facade in Havukoski, Vantaa, Finland @marjattasaatiosr 🙏 Thank you for the support, Arts Promotion Centre Finland - Taiteen edistämiskeskus Taike @taikegram by @elinaholley

The mural I painted for IBM is longlisted for the World Illustration Awards. 🙏 It's an incredible honour to be selected among the best in the world. There were 5,300 entries. 🔝🥹 The World Illustration Awards (WIA) focuses on supporting and celebrating creativity internationally. The WIA is presented by the Association of Illustrators (AOI) in partnership with the Directory of Illustration. The AOI has been championing illustrators and the illustration industry since 1973. It is a non-profit organization. ❤️‍🔥This acknowledgment holds a deep personal significance. Coincidentally, just as I received the IBM commission, I decided to take a leap of faith and focus on art and Illustration. 💫 Thank you, @ibm, for entrusting me with this project. 💯❤️Thank you, @vertti.co, for contacting me about this dream case. 💯❤️Thank you, the @worldillustrationawards, @theaoi, and the @dirillustration for this huge honour. 💯❤️ What a milestone! 🎉Get in touch if you want to collaborate. @forbes just wrote about “a new movement introducing natural forms into urban environments and domestic interiors through wall-based art.”✨️“Murals and wall-based art inspired by nature or botany demonstrates the uplifting power of art to improve urban environments and interiors.” 🌱This is exactly what I have been focusing on for the past few years gaining recognition from local and global award committees, too. 💪Check out the World Illustration Awards Longlisted mural I painted for @ibm and learn about the benefits of botanical art. Hello, my name is Elina, and I’ve just been invited to an OASis residency (Open Art Spaces in Synergy, a multi-year European cultural and artistic project funded by the European Union).A few months ago, I was asked if I had summer plans. I didn’t, yet. This path I’ve chosen is not predictable. I applied for a few things, but there are never guarantees.Well, my summer plans turned out to be invited as an artist to the world’s largest graffiti network festivals, Meeting of Styles, in Oslo/Norway + Vilnus/Lithuania + Pristina/Kosovo, and among the chosen few at an EU-funded artist-in-residence in Warsow/Poland.I love the creative energy of these events, and that Warszawski Klub Wodniaków placemaking initiative is perfectly aligned with my calling. They are developing a more vibrant cultural, social, and community space through art and design. 😍Show up, do the work, trust the process, and don’t forget your magic.+ message me if you want to collaborate. I translate complexity into concepts people care about. Murals, brands, public spaces, campaigns. Trusted by IBM, cities, and cultural institutions. Open to collaborations across the globe. 💫 ✨💅(📷 Reis Ricardo @ricardo_reis_photography @reis.ricardo81 in Lisbon/Portugal, in one of the coolest urban community space I know, the Lumiar Street Art Park) by @elinaholley

Forget sprinkling whimsy when you can spray it…The first Norwegian edition of Meeting of Styles Festival took place in Oslo in July, and I was invited. Cool closed-down mall in Økern, 40 artists around the world, you get the pic… ❤️‍🔥I was asked to paint this massive, peculiar concrete ventilation element as “my art could fit” there. I immediately saw a character on it. Sketching and testing; this cute, quirky, toy-like thing took shape. I had so much fun painting it.Thank you, MOS Oslo, organisers, roomies, all fellow artists… 💅💖✨Especially, @meetingofstyles_oslo @snorkone @hanna.petrine.munkeby @mystery_paradox @int_meetingofstyles 🙏P.S. Did you know that Oslo-born Erik Rotheim invented the aerosol spray a century ago? Check out a tribute by @puntaone (amazing job and amount of bonus walls 😱😍) by @elinaholley

“Incredible. So clean and vibrant colors. Bliss…” 😮‍💨💖The best part of live painting is hearing people react in real time.I am not the artist to commission if you want realism, profusion, or predictability. But if you want public spaces/brands injected with whimsical magic and wonder, you know where to find me. 💅✨Can you imagine this kind of joyful aesthetics in playgrounds, schools, public hubs, or taking over bold lifestyle brands… I can. 👾🚀Thank you for having me, Meeting Of Styles Oslo! ❤️‍🔥@meetingofstyles_oslo @snorkone @hanna.petrine.munkeby @mystery_paradox @int_meetingofstylesP.S. I haven't named this character/mural yet. What would you call it? 🙂👇 Lmk in the comments by @elinaholley

No one chooses to be a refugee. Neither the refugees of intimate partner vi*lence.Nobody chooses to be a victim or stay in a hostile relationship. But silence enables the cycles to be repeated, traumas to be passed from one generation to another, and fear to turn into vi*lence unnoticed. That’s why the Song of a Shadowbird was created.Every time you break a taboo or open up about an internal dragonslaying story, someone else is more likely to break free and feel they can do it, too.Artwork alone may not change the minds of people victim-blaming, erase a global public health problem of epidemic proportions, as the WHO has called domestic ab*se, but never underestimate the power of leading by example and raw, uncensored storytelling.✏️SONG OF A SHADOWBIRD, an immersive installation about domestic vi*lence and survivalConcept, mural painting, and illustration: Elina HolleySpace design and lighting: Miia NapariMusic: Haydn Douet LukiesNow, at the Purkutaide exhibitionOpen in June-Mid-August Tue-Sun 11am-6pmHämeentie 135 C, 00560 Helsinki, FinlandWelcome by @elinaholley

Inner Peace And War (Collateral Damage)...Song of a Shadowbird, immersive installation on domestic v*olence, intergenerational trauma, and at @purkutaideBecause I needed to process these topics through art. Because these topics need to be talked about. Because the system and society we live in need to change. We need to change. It is not easy, but it is possible. Be the change.Seek help, speak up, share. Everybody deserves peace, safety, and happiness.#bethechange by @elinaholley

I had processed the horrific subject of our installation in my mind for a long time, and now the story and images are out there for everyone to see.The outcome is just as beautiful and painful as I had envisioned: a dreamlike, oppressive atmosphere, flashes, symbolism, surrealism, and grief you do not want to believe is real. It's like a movie scene you can step into and feel.I’m so thankful I got to create this with the best team imaginable.I had wanted to collaborate with Miia and Haydn, and I'm so proud it was through this vulnerable yet powerful piece. Music is everything, to me, and the space, well, obviously essential in an immersive installation. I loved not knowing how they interpret the concept but knowing they deliver special creative magic. The nicest people I trust 100%. Trust the process realness. And I couldn't imagine a better venue. Through Purkutaide, we can reach masses (a former factory/art school is full of incredible multisensory art, reserve time when you visit!). After all, the motive is to change the world.Yes, change the world through art, not solely, but plant seeds of positive transformation, raise awareness, and provide an outlet for a complex problem whose magnitude we've only just started to grasp.❤️‍🔥SONG OF A SHADOWBIRD, an immersive installation about domestic violence and survivalConcept, mural painting, and illustration: Elina HolleySpace design and lighting: Miia NapariMusic: Haydn Douet LukiesNow, at the Purkutaide exhibitionOpen in May Sat/Sun 11am-6pm, June-Mid-August Tue-Sun 11am-6pmHämeentie 135 C, 00560 Helsinki, FinlandWelcome!📷 Pia Maria RautioP.S. The strange thing about surviving darkness is how intensely beautiful life becomes. Not right away and not all the time, obviously.Healing often requires rebuilding an entire internal world:rewiring survival patterns, unlearning fear, teaching the nervous system that danger is no longer at home with you.And the healing journey is not linear. But something extraordinary can happen.Joy returns differently. Consciously. Our installation is like a beacon light, a gentle nudge toward help for those experiencing abuse. While the installation explores fear and coercive control, the actual goal is freedom, recovery, and psychological renewal. The return of joy is revolutionary.💫SONG OF A SHADOWBIRD, an immersive installation about domestic violence and survivalConcept, mural painting, and illustration: Elina HolleySpace design and lighting: Miia NapariMusic: Haydn Douet LukiesNow, at the Purkutaide exhibitionOpen in June-Mid-August Tue-Sun 11am-6pmHämeentie 135 C, 00560 Helsinki, FinlandWelcome!Art can not solve violence alone, but it can make silence harder to maintain ✊“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being. It may even be assumed that just as the unconscious affects us, so the increase in our consciousness affects the unconscious.” (C.G. Jung)Have you visited the exhibition yet?
