Westgrat, Salbitschijen.

Taken from my ukc logbook - DNF. Little bit optimistic given the weather forecast. Last minute punt to end our alps trip. Go big or go home. With the storm on our tails, we bailed when the bolts were buzzing. With only 4 pitches to go (32/36), we had to reverse last pitches to get back to the 5th tower to escape the route. Bit disappointed, but still epic day. Run back to the van with lighting crashing around us. As far as ridges go, this one was pretty cool. Don’t be fooled it’s quite hard. Freed all pitches except for the aid pitch. BETA: no nuts needed and a single rack of cams (only if you’re comfortable with long runouts), take lots of food and paracetamol with caffeine. Essential.

1st pic is on me on the send go of @caffinspain crimpylishous wall climb. Excellent. 2nd picture of me soloing at Foel y Gron, after scoping out ‘sickle cell’. Another excellent climb. Weekend spent trying to dodge the tourists. Success.
