Hi, I’m Lis! Thanks so much for being here. 🤍 I’m an artist who loves creating pieces that feel like home - the moments that make life wonderful and full.

I still feel pretty new at this. I opened my shop a little over a year ago. Before diving all in to art, I spent over 10 years working full-time in the Coast Guard. I’m not naturally organized (INFP), but the CG helped me realize how much I need a checklist. I’m now a CG reservist, married to a Coastie, and mom to 2 beautiful kids, 8 and 10. Our life has been full of moves, adventures, and the kind of resilience that comes from packing up your entire house every few years. Sometimes I worry about all the moving, and how the kids will continue to handle it - but other times, I’m so grateful they’ve had so many incredible experiences. They amaze me.

I work mostly on an iPad, ideally from a coffee shop, daydreaming about future travels (latest obsession is Scotland). When I’m not drawing or mom’ing, I like to be outside - hiking, exploring new towns, or taking a walk with a good book/podcast. I like libraries. I love thinking about outer space and the mystery of it all… the night sky, and the billions of stars and galaxies that we can’t see. I’m not musical at all, but I love music - my reels are mostly filled with that, plus a lot of funny stuff… and dogs getting adopted.

We’re settling into small town life outside Milwaukee. It’s our first time living in the Midwest, and I’m genuinely enjoying it… My husband is still in shock from the 11 inches of snow we got last week (he’s from California), but the people are incredible (so kind!) and they can really handle their beer in Wisconsin. 🤣

If you’re new here, hi! Glad you’re here! I’d love to know a fun fact or two about you too, pretty please - or perhaps you relate to something above. Let me know! 👋 by @elisabethdorrian

My great concern is to live now in a way that is right for me. I do not boast that it is more expeditious than another, but it is more to my taste. -Jean Cocteau by @elisabethdorrian

I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house.

Trick or Treat! Do you remember what you wore for your first Halloween costume? I don’t, but there are pictures of all 4 of us kids wearing the same clown costume my mom sewed. As the youngest, it was a bit beat down by the time I wore it. 😂 I wish I could find that picture! Happy October everyone! by @elisabethdorrian

One of the kittens escaped and has gotten herself into a bit of a pickle. In good news, it has made it easy to pick a name for her: pickle. What should we name the other three kitties? 😻 by @elisabethdorrian
