Elisapie Is Our February/March 2026 Cover Star!The Inuk musician is at a wonderful moment in her career. Inuktitut connected with listeners, racking up 9.5 million streams globally and more than 10,000 physical-album sales in Canada alone. Released in 2023, it features 10 covers of pop and rock songs from the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Blondie and Metallica, sung completely in Inuktitut, the 48-year-old artist’s first language. My album Inuktitut is available for real, wow ! .Inuktitut means the way of the Inuit and it's the name of our language..This was supposed to be a simple, light and easy cover album, but memories started to appear, followed by strong emotions and deep tears. These big songs resonated in our communities when i was a kid. They traced the time when Inuit were going through a lot. Like our soundtrack. Each song has a big place in our hearts. .Nakurmiik to all the artists who accepted my request to translate, explore and make their songs my own ❤️ Some were harder to get but we did it. Sarah Aloupa who made sure I respected our beautiful Inuktitut. .Nakurmiik musicians, artists, mixing engineer who came to do this album with me. @joegrassmusic producer who carried this project with such care and @kusterrobbie, @littleanimalband, @jasonbiss, @frinuk , @francois_lafontaine, @westerliesmusic, @leifvollebekk, @ErikaAngell, @to.let.you.know , @NoahGeorgeson , @PierreGirard @RichardAddison My management @Opakmediamusic pushed as much as I did to make this happen. 7. Miedo de OlvidarSeba and I (Loic) were talking about how much we loved Un Verano Sin Ti by @badbunnypr and decided we absolutely had to try writing a song in Spanish.The song became a lullaby dedicated to our mothers and to the feeling of missing home after moving far away from where we grew up.The three of us immediately thought that @elisapie would sound incredible on it. A few days later, @kusterrobbie came into the studio, listened to the song and said: “Elisapie would be amazing on this.” We all laughed because we had already been thinking the exact same thing.We ended up doing a few sessions with her and were blown away not only by her voice, but also by how kind and humble she is. It truly feels like a privilege to have her on this record.—Seba et moi parlions souvent de notre amour pour Un Verano Sin Ti de Bad Bunny et on s’est dit qu’il fallait absolument essayer d’écrire une chanson en espagnol.La chanson est devenue une berceuse dédiée à nos mères et au sentiment de nostalgie qu’on peut ressentir lorsqu’on vit loin de chez soi.Tous les trois, on a immédiatement pensé qu’Elisapie serait parfaite sur cette chanson. Quelques jours plus tard, Robbie est arrivé au studio, a écouté le morceau et nous a dit : « Elisapie serait incroyable là-dessus. » On s’est tous mis à rire parce qu’on pensait exactement la même chose.On a ensuite fait quelques sessions avec elle et on a été complètement soufflés, autant par sa voix que par sa gentillesse et son humilité. C’est un immense privilège de l’avoir sur cet album. by @elisapie

Our BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon tour have officially started. I’m so excited to see you all. And it’s my birthday week!!!! I just had the best and most inspirational time in beautiful Quadra island BC. My heart was able to find that safe space to feel it all. I’m changed.I’ve been holding a lot of things. Grieving is such a personal journey. Don’t ever feel pressured to do things like other people’s way. So the last week no matter how scary the unknown can be, I just really tried to trust myself and the music. Sometimes I guided it, sometimes it guided me.I can’t wait for the next time…But for now let’s get this Inuktitut tour started!!!!Nakurmiik @quadraconcerts @jasonsharpmusic Dave Toley and team for the invite.
