OMG, 😱 I can't believe this really worked!! My class was SOO chatty and loud any time we transitioned after a lesson. I saw this idea on the 'gram, gave it a try, and was shocked by how well they did.

They even remembered these steps after winter break! 🙌🏼

If your students are wasting precious time between tasks, give this a try. Here are the STEPS:

1. Teacher holds up 1 finger to signal voices off. Kids hold up a zero for zero voices.

2. Teacher holds up 2 fingers. Kids stand up silently.

3. Teacher holds up 3 fingers. Kids transition back to their seats, to the line, etc.

OMG where has this #teacherhack been all my life?! Honestly, it didn't take long to do this to every one of my #secondgrade marker packs, and after 5 days, they're still holding strong! 💪🏽

I used this to open and close our year together as a class family. 🩷 Fun beginning of year or #endofyear morning meeting activity that my second/third graders loved! Guaranteed to produce smiles & laughter! 😄

GAME CHANGER!! ✨ I can't believe it's taken me 11 years to think of this! No more stuffing anchor charts in my teacher closet, folding into a cardboard box, or trying to keep them wrinkle free!

Add as many as you want to the binder ring and just flip through to find the one you need!
