The 1999 USA TODAY All-USA High School Basketball Second Team featured talented players including Jason Richardson from Arthur Hill High School, Jason Kapono from Artesia High School, Leon Smith from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School, Brent Nelson from St. Albans High School, and Keith Bogans from DeMatha Catholic High School, showcasing some of the best young basketball talents in the nation at that time. 🏁 by @elitehoopsnetwork

Saginaw has some talent, and these young guns definitely got next. Jocquan Blackwell and Bruce Poindexter are already leading the pack. I got a glimpse of this group, and man — I can’t wait to see what they grow into.

Blackwell is a true floor general who can create his own shot and make plays for others. His feel for the game and IQ stand out every time he touches the ball. Poindexter is an absolute beast — his physicality, effort, and nonstop motor set the tone on both ends. You don’t see many kids play with that kind of intensity.

And you can’t forget about Jamarrion Hill, a pure sharpshooter who stepped up and knocked down clutch threes when his team needed them.

Chance Sajdak brings a smooth, confident presence to the floor. The left-handed sniper can flat-out hoop, showing the ability to shoot it from deep and operate efficiently in the mid-range. He gets to his spots with purpose and finishes around the rim with either hand. Expect him to be a major leader and tone-setter for Bay City Western this season. 🏁

The Lavish Sports Mega Scrimmage delivered a high-energy day of competition, community, and culture. Hosted with the goal of bringing programs together before the season, the event brought out a strong lineup of schools who showed up ready to compete and set the tone early. From start to finish, the gym was filled with intensity, sportsmanship, and a real love for the game.

Beyond the basketball, the community presence helped elevate the event into something bigger. Parents, fans, and local supporters packed the gym and created an atmosphere that every program fed off. Their support played a major role in making the Mega Scrimmage feel like a true basketball celebration.

Behind the scenes, coaches, referees, volunteers, staff, sponsors, media, and organizers worked together seamlessly to ensure the entire day ran smoothly. Their combined effort helped turn a simple preseason scrimmage into a meaningful community moment.

The Lavish Sports Mega Scrimmage was more than a warm-up for the season — it was a statement about collaboration, culture, and growth.
