Elite Knitting isn’t just a studio; it’s a living, breathing ecosystem of women who make the impossible happen every day. I want to honor my internal team—the ones who wear every hat, manage the chaos of a busy studio, and balance their own lives and families while keeping my vision on track. You are the backbone of everything we do.

Alongside them, I celebrate our artisans. Their hands translate a sketch into something tangible with a level of care and self-respect that can’t be taught.

To the women in my studio and our wider community: I see you today and every day. We don’t celebrate your brilliance because it’s March 8th; we protect your craft and your time as our daily protocol. We wouldn’t be here without you.

One of the most often asked questions: Why is it that when I follow a pattern exactly as it’s written, use the identical yarn and the same hook, final size still doesn’t match the design?

The answer comes down to your personal tension.
In this video, I’m showing the direct contrast between my gauge, my master sample maker’s, and my mom’s. Even with the exact same tools, our grids look different. One is tighter the other is significantly largerit and that difference can change the whole layout.

If you want to move past blindly following a pattern and learn how to actually make a garment fit your exact measurements, you have to master your tension.

Creating a crochet garment that provides sufficient coverage and a heavy, fluid drape requires highly controlled stitch architecture.

For this piece, I worked a fine base stitch using 100% cotton yarn (Sesia Cablè 5 Bio) that gives the illusion of a solid fabric without the added bulk or weight of a lining.

I do not sell patterns. Instead, I record the exact step-by-step stitch videos for my sample makers, and I have just uploaded that internal video to my YouTube channel (Elite Knitting Studio).

This was one of the easiest and yet the hardest stitches of the entire dress.
Just a single crochet followed by a chain took so much energy to get the tension right that I almost gave up. But I’m so glad I worked through it because everybody loves this detail. Fitted in the slit, this mesh looks amazing when you walk!

We built this custom @looking.friday gown with a very specific goal in mind, to create a flawless drape without relying on traditional internal seams.

To get that perfect, body-skimming contour, our team used a premium, @sesia_manifatture_1963 mercerized cotton that provides the exact density and substantial weight needed for gravity to do the work. The emerald base is built using a tight, high-tension stitch that gives the fabric excellent structure, allowing it to naturally stretch and hold its shape around the curves.

The gold jasmine vines winding up the silhouette are hand-crocheted from @kyototexyarn metallic cord. Their placement follows the natural lines of the body to help evenly distribute the weight of the knit, rather than just being decorative. Each flower and vine is shaped individually by our artisans before being meticulously hand-stitched onto the gown.

It is a complex puzzle of fiber density and hidden math, but seeing the fluid way it moves makes every hour of handwork completely worth it.
