HOW TO USE THE PHILLY SHELL 🥊 The Philly Shell isn’t just a stance. It’s a system. When you use it correctly, you can make your opponent miss, control distance, set traps, and create some nasty counter opportunities. Here’s the foundation: 🥊 Rear hand high — protect the chin and be ready to catch shots. 🥊 Lead shoulder up — use it to protect your chin and roll incoming punches. 🥊 Lead hand low — don’t just let it hang. Use it to control, frame, parry, and disrupt your opponent. 🥊 Elbows in — protect the body while staying ready to counter. 🥊 Move your feet — the shell works best when you’re creating angles, not standing still waiting to get hit. 🥊 Counter off their mistakes — make them miss, then make them pay. The biggest mistake? Thinking the Philly Shell is just “standing sideways with your hand down.” It’s not. It takes timing, distance, reactions, defense, and serious reps to master. Want to learn the Philly Shell the RIGHT way? Save this. Share it with your training partner. And follow @EliteBoxingFitness for more boxing breakdowns. #BoxingTips #BoxingTraining #BoxingIQ BoxingDefense CounterPunching FightIQ EliteBoxing WeBuildChampions by @elitesfn

Everybody who walks through these doors won’t become a fighter. But everybody deserves something worth fighting for. 🥊 Over these last couple months, we’ve been working toward something bigger for our community. Giving people a place to belong, discipline they can carry into everyday life, and the confidence to use their voice. Sometimes that starts with a kid finally believing in themselves. An adult finding their way again. Somebody realizing they’re capable of more than they thought. That’s why this matters to us. What we teach inside the gym should make a difference outside of it. Columbia, let’s keep building. Together. 🤝 Share this with somebody who’s made a difference in your life. Give them their flowers while they can see it. My life in a nutshell 🥴🤣 “New Year coming… I’m gonna get right, Coach. I promise.” 🤞 Coach: “You said that three New Years ago.” 😭🥊 Tag the friend whose fitness journey is always “starting Monday.” 😂 by @elitesfn
How does Canelo you stay calm enough to make the next decision? 🥊 PT. 2: One of my biggest lessons from that camp was understanding how champions stay composed under pressure. You get caught. You’re hurt. Everything in you wants to react. But you still have to see what’s coming, control yourself, and trust what you know. Sharing the ring with Canelo Álvarez taught me how much that matters. Staying calm helps you read the moment. The pressure is still there, but you give yourself room to think, respond, and flow. 🌊 🎃 TONIGHT — Saturday, October 31 🥊 Canelo Álvarez vs. Christian Mbilli 📍 Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 📺 LIVE on DAZN PPV Watch how he handles the pressure tonight. What do you think decides this fight? 👇 by @elitesfn
Canelo hurt me with the same shot he caught Billy Joe Saunders with. That’s a lesson you don’t forget. 🥊 PT. 1: You watch him land it in a fight and think you understand. Then you’re standing in front of him and find out for yourself. Sharing the ring with Canelo Álvarez opened my eyes to how much goes into boxing at that level. Those rounds gave me lessons I’ll carry for the rest of my career. Thank you to Canelo Álvarez and Eddy Reynoso for the opportunity, the work, and the lessons. Nothing but respect. 🤝🇲🇽 🎃 TONIGHT — Saturday, October 31 🥊 Canelo Álvarez vs. Christian Mbilli 📍 Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 📺 LIVE on DAZN PPV Watch for that shot tonight. Who you got—Canelo or Mbilli? 👇 by @elitesfn
Great Sparring with @nurmaganbet.bek.kazbekuli & @rambo_time Moments like this remind me why we built this culture. Iron sharpens iron. Being able to work while champions like Canelo Alvarez and Eddy Reynoso are watching is motivation to keep pushing the next generation even harder. At the end of the day, talent matters… but composure under pressure matters even more. 🥊 If you’re serious about learning REAL boxing, building confidence, getting in shape, or taking your skills to the next level… come experience the culture at Elite Boxing & Fitness. Don’t feel like I need to talk much about this one. 🤐 Sharing the ring with Bek Nurmaganbet was an honor. Had to show the work going both ways—can’t just post the rounds that make you look good. We both came to work, and I’m still feeling some of those shots 😂 He’s got the amateur pedigree, and he won’t back down from a fight. I believe he’s a future world champion. Tune in Saturday and watch him go to work. Respect always. Good luck, hermano. 🤝 🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿 @nurmaganbet.bek.kazbekuli Asian champion. World youth silver medalist. A serious amateur background representing Kazakhstan. But after feeling that level firsthand, I believe he’s a future world champion. One of the most challenging fighters I’ve faced. We pushed each other, gave each other honest work, and that’s where the respect comes from.🤝 Tune in this Saturday, October 31 🎃 as Bek looks to go 17–0 on Mexico vs. The World in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Live on DAZN. WARS IN THE GYM… is it necessary? 🥊 Be honest: do hard rounds build fighters, or do too many gyms turn sparring into something it shouldn’t be? by @elitesfn
Top Fight or no fight. Get fit. Stay ready. 🥊 You don’t need to compete to have a reason to train. Train for the days you need to clear your head. Train to get stronger, build your endurance, and feel confident in your body. Train to stay composed when things get uncomfortable. And with how unpredictable the world can be, knowing how to protect yourself matters. That includes knowing when to walk away. Learning a combat sport gives you something to work on every time you show up. Your fitness. Your discipline. Your confidence. Yourself. You may never step into a ring—but that work goes everywhere with you. Send this to somebody who keeps saying, “I need to get back in shape.” Let’s get that first class in together. 🥊 📍Elite Boxing & Fitness | Columbia, MD We Build Champions. by @elitesfn
Same punch. Different approach. 🥊 Coach Southside breaking down the Triple G–style hook—an old-school Soviet approach to finding power through positioning and the angle of the shot. Sometimes a small adjustment changes how a punch feels. This is the kind of detail we work on in Boxing Level II, then put into practice through partner mittwork, bag rounds, and conditioning. Have you tried throwing your hook this way? Tell us what works for you—and send this to your mittwork partner so you can work on it together. Boxing Level II Monday — 6:30 PM Tuesday — 6:45 PM Wednesday — 5:30 PM Thursday — 6:45 PM Want to learn with us? Ask the front desk to get registered. by @elitesfn
Watching Jaime Munguía fight is one thing. Sharing the ring with him gives you a whole different perspective. 🥊🇲🇽 I’ve felt that work firsthand. Here’s my take on him as a fighter and what to watch for when he faces Nikita Zon this Saturday. Halloween in Riyadh 🎃🔥 Mexico vs. The World on the Canelo card. Everybody tune in live on DAZN—this one has my attention! Eddy Reynoso and the team: respect for the work that goes into getting ready for this stage. 🤝 @caneloteam Let’s hear your prediction BEFORE the first bell: Munguía by stoppage, decision, or does Zon pull off the upset? If you’re calling a knockout, call the round. 👇 Send this to the boxing fan you’re watching with. Let’s see who calls it right. #JaimeMunguia #MunguiaZon #Canelo #RiyadhSeason MexicoVsTheWorld DAZNBoxing by @elitesfn
