I am proud to be a graduate of John Muir High School, Class of 2007, and even prouder to have returned as the Head Basketball Coach.

Over the years, I’ve heard many opinions about Muir. Some are based on experiences from the past, and some are based on perceptions that no longer reflect the reality of who we are today. Every school has challenges, but Muir is not the same school it was 10, 15, or 20 years ago.

What I see every day is a school filled with dedicated teachers, administrators, coaches, parents, and students who are committed to growth, excellence, and opportunity. I see young people who want to succeed, families who care deeply about their children’s futures, and a community that continues to move forward.

As a coach, my responsibility goes beyond basketball. My goal is to develop young men of character, discipline, accountability, and leadership. We are building a culture where student-athletes are expected to excel in the classroom, represent their families with pride, and positively impact the community.

I returned to Muir because I believe in this school. I believe in our students. I believe in our future.

The best way to understand what Muir is today is not through rumors or outdated perceptions, it’s by visiting our campus, meeting our students, and seeing firsthand the positive culture we are building every day.

Gentlemen,

As I sit and reflect on this journey, my heart is filled with gratitude and pride. You will always hold a special place in my heart because you were my first graduating class as a head coach. Championships, records, and awards come and go, but what you’ve helped build here will last forever.

You set the standard. You laid the foundation. You showed future generations what it means to be committed, resilient, and fully invested.

I’m proud of each and every one of you. Thank you for trusting me, believing in our vision, and helping build something bigger than yourselves.
