LOWER BODY LIFT

Tomorrow starts the new month so that means more stimulus.

Now you might be asking what’s stimulus? In training, stimulus is a way that you can force your body to adapt to bigger outputs. As athletes we want to be able to produce the right adaptations in the weight room that are going to translate to the field. Let’s work!

A1. Trap Bar Deadlift (2*5 Warmup) 3*5 2*3
A2. Tall Box Depth Drop 3*2
A3. Single Leg Band Resisted Pogo Hop 3*15
B1. Single Leg Squat 3*5
B2. Cable Step Into Rotation 3*6
C1. Banded Ankle Dorsiflexion 2*15
C2. Single Leg Hamstring Bridge 2*10
C3. ISO Bridge T-Spine Rotations 2*10 by @elithrowsagain

The gym as an athlete can be a difficult place. Many athletes get to the gym and don’t know where to start. Get in and out but make sure the work is intentional.

Sprint, Jump, Lift Heavy, Rotate Fast

These are so important for increasing power output so if you aren’t doing these you are missing out! Swipe for more. #sports #sportstraining #baseballtraining #explosiveathlete

Sprinting is must! When you sprint at max effort your contact force into the ground is extremely powerful. Your muscles rely on fast twitch fibers which is why sprinting is huge for athletes. If you’re not sprinting 2 times a week you are missing out on huge sport gains.

Jump around and have fun with it. Jump in different directions, jump up, jump out, or one leg jump. There so many variations of jumping that will help your athleticism. Here is a double banded jump. This will help train your nervous system to perform at a faster rate. You want to be quick off the ground with very little ground contact.

I think testing your vertical jump is one of the biggest power outputs you can test. It measures explosive power in a linear direction. Testing this can track process of your work throughout the weeks to see if you are getting more explosive. My numbers on vertical jump are finally back into the 30 inches range.

Lift Heavy! Maximum your strength as an athlete. This will increase your power, speed, and can be an injury prevention. You don’t need to be doing 4*10 on every exercise at the gym. Pick the ones you need and perfect them.

Here’s me benching 70’s for 5 for the first time since surgery. Slowing building back up strength in every category.

Rotate fast! In every sport you are rotating hard in some direction so you need to train it. Medball throws, cable work, or band work are all great ways to get this in. If you started working out this, you will increase your power and speed. Let’s work! by @elithrowsagain

Today marks 4 months since surgery! This experience has changed me so much. I’ve been able to step back from baseball and find my why. I have found a new love for the game that I didn’t have before. I have 4 more weeks of getting stronger then I will be able throw. Thank you Lord for new opportunity’s and blessings you have given me to be able to continue. by @elithrowsagain

Mark 10:27
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”

Dreams are worth chasing. But you have to be able to put in the work everyday. #chasingdreams #explore by @elithrowsagain
