This weekend, in honor of our 15th wedding anniversary... Albin created the most beautiful vow renewal. Gathered in our special church with family and dear friends we said "I do, again." We came to Ojai for the nature and actually found more community than we ever dreamed of for ourselves and our kids, a spiritual home, and renewed appreciation for our marriage and these kids we are raising. It was a night of beautiful music thanks to our church pianist, beautiful new vows, delicious food, wine and the generous laughter of sweet friends. Too many friends to name and thank here but special shoutout to @1950lindaanderson @hairhousecallsss @clintonhaugan @mrskjhaugan @growingsanctuary @wildandfreebabes @deanrogersrealestate @ojaipc for all the help before during and after. Today I am celebrating my very hip and special and hilarious mom. Today she is 70 years young. My one constant in this life has always been her. She's my backer. Lucky me!

2020 has been a strange year. A year of both darkness and light. My mom spent a grueling nine days on life support in the ICU after a cardiac arrest on Mother's Day. Her survival and recovery were question marks hanging in the air. And we held our breath. And some how; miraculously she woke up and actually bounced back in a big way- rather quickly. We celebrate this every day. We are so thankful! It's almost a strange and surreal dream that happened. I don't bring it up to drudge up a bad memory. But the event granted me such clarity and perspective about what truly matters most. All of 2020 has been a lesson in that in fact.

Anyways, I am thankful and happy to be celebrating (and looking forward to a tiny scale covid celebration soon.) Today is a very special day to celebrate you Mommy! Albin and the kids and I love you. Kinda crazy love, Hortense. by @elizabeth.soarez

What a day.. party at the shop (I was off thankfully), major nesting and cleaning at home, kids running high energy with Spring Break excitement, and this guy runs into a tent pole (don’t ask) first thing this morning and lands himself in the ER getting stitches. So. Much. Blood. Anyway— plans change.. glad my man was home to take care of it.. and glad our little beauty boy is fine. taken in San Diego, California by @elizabeth.soarez

The universe has planted me right at home all week nursing my biggest kid who has had a relentless cough since Monday evening. Sunshine is pouring in, fresh air is blowing through the back doors, and I *think* he is improving. I had some other plans this week, but this feels okay too. Enjoying the forced nesting time.. getting so much done at home. And this pretty dog is keeping us entertained all day every day. taken in San Diego, California by @elizabeth.soarez

Still about 100 things to do (like paint the walls, and choose a name, and and and), but this always feels like a BIG, it’s about to get real moment. Putting a crib up and washing tiny blankets in the gentle cycle. Third babe.. excitement and nerves as we get close to the finish line with this pregnancy... and knowing it’s not the finish line at all.. it’s totally the beginning of our complete family. taken in San Diego, California by @elizabeth.soarez
