Today was a reminder of when football stops being “just a game.”
You can argue about wins and losses. You can talk trash. You can celebrate your team. That’s sports.
But watching games be affected by calls so questionable that even NFL rules experts on the broadcast openly disagreed with them is beyond frustrating. Not one but both of my teams that have a history with my family had calls like that. Today, FOX rules analyst Dean Blandino himself said the overturned Commanders touchdown looked like a touchdown to him.
But what bothered me even more had nothing to do with the scoreboard.
Jayden Daniels suffered a horrific injury to the same elbow he injured last season, and FOX repeatedly showed the graphic replay — to the point that even Tom Brady was visibly shocked by what he was seeing.
Why do we need to keep watching someone’s body bend like that?
That isn’t entertainment. That is a human being lying on the field injured.
And seeing some Cowboys fans celebrate, mock, or take pleasure in another player getting hurt is disgusting. Rivalry does not excuse a complete lack of compassion. Cheer for your team. Celebrate the win. But celebrating another person’s pain is classless.
My family has loved and supported this team for DECADES — through great seasons and terrible ones. I grew up there, went to college there. Not just because I thought a player was cute or jumped on the bandwagon in the 90’s. We aren’t bandwagon fans unlike most of the cowboy fanbase. This team and also the Ravens are part of our family traditions and memories. So yes, we care deeply.
Today hurt. Not simply because of a football score, but because somewhere along the way, some people seem to have forgotten that underneath those helmets are PEOPLE. There is a reason I say that team and their fans are classless. They have proved it time and time again. I love this DMV fanbase and they are the best fans ever.
Players have families. They have careers. They have futures beyond a Sunday afternoon.
Football is a game.
Human decency shouldn’t be. ❤️💛💜🖤Do better @nflonfox @nfl

Late post-This summer we traveled to New England for some beautiful scenery, delicious food, and nice weather. We had a great time on Cape Cod, seeing beautiful beaches, homes, and lighthouses. Our next adventure was Fall River, where the Lizzie Borden tour was so much fun. (Of course I had to visit a murderer’s home.) Lastly, we stayed in a beautiful beach house on Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island. While there, we enjoyed the beach, the shops, a Block Island day adventure with mopeds, and so much delicious food. We are so Blessed to have traveled all over this beautiful country, as well as other countries, and shown our children so many different sites. ☀️🌻🕶️⛱️🦞🌊#summervacations☀️ #blessed #family #newengland by @elizabeth.white007

As summer is upon us, some friends of mine always bring up my hotel criteria, and if they see a hotel that breaks one of the rules, they think of me lol. So I decided to publish my list. Anyone that knows me, knows how OCD I am. #hotelroom #criteria #ocd #besafeoutthere #standards by @elizabeth.white007

We’re so Blessed for our Bahamas vacation this Spring at our own little beach villa. I will never regret taking my kids on all our adventures. The memories and adventures we have had together have been the best. From snorkeling, turtle watching, private island adventures, downtown sightseeing, to all of the beautiful beaches and restaurants, we had such an amazing time. #bahamas #soblessed❤️ #springbreak #familyfirst ☀️🌊🏖️🐚🏝️ by @elizabeth.white007

Last week I had the honor of seeing JJ officially become a college graduate. To say I am proud is an understatement. He has worked so hard, was able to finish a quarter early, earn his degree in Business Economics, and get a head start on his career. Praying for a Blessed future as you continue to the next chapter. The future is very bright and I am always your biggest fan! #collegegraduation #collegegraduate #ucr #businesseconomics #highlander #soproud❤️ #classof2025 👨🏻‍🎓🎓🎉🥳🍾🎈📚💰♥️ by @elizabeth.white007

What an incredible journey this has been!! First, to be recruited on this talented team was an honor. Michaela went from a life long base to learning how to become an elite flyer! Through her hard work and determination, she not only made the team, but she earned a spot on the competition floor. She worked hard, week after week to keep that spot. To see her on the bandshell the last two days was absolutely amazing, and the whole experience was the coolest ever. What a year!!! Gold bid to Nationals, USA Collegiate Champion, NCA Collegiate National Champion, and Cheer Rookie of the year!! This team has worked hard and made a name for themselves against some huge tough schools this year. They are so talented. Thank you so so much to @westcliffu_cheer coaches Eric and Brian and the whole coaching team. Thank you for selecting Michaela, coaching her to becoming a college level flyer, always believing in her, and always caring for her. Thank you for giving her such an amazing year she will never forget!!! @michaela_white soak this in my baby girl because you are so deserving and earned every single moment!!!! #ncacollegenationals #coedcheer #nationalchampions #largecoed #westcliffuniversity #whatayear #theworkisworthit #glorytogod☝️
