30 | to the end of a decade full of becoming and exploring. 🌺

spent the last days of my 20s in a place where i’ve spent so many of my happiest and hardest moments this decade: by the water, finding solace in the rhythmic waves, sparkling with both serendipity and steadfastness. 🌊

i am so overwhelmed with the treasure trove of memories i’ve collected over these years, and the many chance encounters that we’ve cultivated into lifelong connections. 🥹

i feel so blessed to live a life i’ve prayed for. i know i’m making both 10 year-old and 20 year-old me proud, and i’ll never take that for granted. 🙏🏾

something tells me this next decade is going to be even more beautiful. 🩵

throwback to the most magical day playing with elephants. truly one of the most indescribable and special memories of my life 🥹

the elephant sanctuary i visited is in chiang mai, thailand. each elephant is cared for so diligently by her own special mahout. every one of these mahouts are karen refugees.

the karen people are an ethnic group indigenous to the mountainous border regions of southeastern myanmar (burma). thousands have been displaced to thailand due to military airstrikes over their ancestral homeland. they now face a severe humanitarian crisis.

the myanmar-thailand earthquake was truly so devastating. many townships and villages with substantial karen populations have faced devastation, with damaged infrastructure hindering the delivery of aid. the situation is dire, exacerbated by the usaid cuts.

please consider donating to international relief organizations providing lifesaving humanitarian aid during this time. this memory is so special to me and the karen community and all of myanmar & thailand deserve our support. taken in Chiang Mai, Thailand by @elizabethseraiah

trekked through the rainforest to spend a sacred morning with bwindi’s mountain gorillas. 🦍

there are a little over a thousand left on earth. forever thankful to those dedicated to conserving the homes & lives of these majestic creatures. 🩶
