Another year round the sun spent in Cork City with my love @naomi_isaacs 🌤️☘️

Blindboy was doing a live podcast there the day after my birthday, and after spending the past orbit becoming a full-blown Ten Foot Declan, it felt like the perfect birthday pilgrimage!

We visited the Butter Museum, had lots of delicious food, went to a lovely folk storytelling gig, kissed the Blarney Stone, greeted some holy wells, and had a little dip in the sea. A beautiful time all round⭐️ taken in Cork, Ireland by @ell.ebee

A teeny tiny ceramic tile triptych inspired by Yuki Kihara’s research for Paradise Camp at the Whitworth, centring Indigenous queer worlds.

The exhibition presented specimens collected during 19th and early 20th century colonial expeditions, including the Bluehead Wrasse (Trinidad), Broad-Barred Goby (Sudan), and Pink Skunk Clownfish (Indonesia). These species can change sex in different ways, offering an ecological perspective on gender that highlights how trans identities are not new, nor uniquely human. We only need to look to nature to see such queerness in action, so why ostracise people for wanting to live happily in the body they call home? by @ell.ebee

A trip to Pear Mill Vintage Emporium in Stockport is always a joyous well of curiosity to explore, so here’s a little insight into some objects that caught my eye and inspired a collection of ceramic charms! 🦆🐸🐇❤️ taken in Pear Mill Vintage Emporium by @ell.ebee

A few months back I styled this simple spring window display for @blue.rinse.manchester, where I picked out four of my favourite knit jumpers and created woodcut paintings with glazed ceramic details inspired by each! 👢🏠❤️🦆

I won’t lie, digitising my work is the bane of my existence, especially when it’s small details behind glass! So if you’re passing by, do stop and have a peek; it definitely looks better in real life and it’s worth it to say hi to the silly ducks! 👋 taken in Blue Rinse Manchester by @ell.ebee

Poster by @ell.ebee ❄️

#sibleius #contemporaryclassical #newcomposers #grieg #worldpremier The image is a pale blue concert poster with a black, woodcut-style illustration and ornate typography that gives a fairy-tale, old-world feel.

At the top is a large, elegant serif title: "NORDIC TALES". A smaller line underneath reads "A concert by Taraneh Orchestra".

In the centre is a central black illustration framed by decorative, wrought-iron gate motifs. Inside the frame a small figure stands near the gate looking into an icy Nordic landscape. A tall fir tree looms on the right; the left shows the ornate gate and climbing ornamentation. Several small bird silhouettes perch on the gate and fly around the scene.
The illustration style is highly detailed, silhouette-like, and evocative of woodcuts or vintage storybook engravings.

Underneath that is a block of smaller text listing the program and performers. Text reads "Featuring the world premier of The Ice Palace by James Hyde, Two Elegiac Melodies by Edward Grieg and Symphony No.5 by Jean Sibelius conducted by Naomi Isaacs."
A ticket link QR code sits to the left of that text block. taken in Christ Church, West Didsbury by @ell.ebee

🎉 Following on from their MADE IT residencies, we’ve been catching up with the artists about their practice.

Next, we spoke to multidisciplinary artist Ellie Blundell about colour, play and queerness, their time on residency at Convention House, and how drawing and ceramics shape the way they work.

Read the full piece via the link in our bio.

MADE IT is organised by Short Supply and funded by Arts Council England. MADE IT was organised in partnership with DMZ Studio.
