“Vivaldi is a Bottom” @tallinnfashionweek October 30th

Originally I was aiming to create the ugliest skirt ever just to give people something to talk about, but it ended up being a maximalist-fungal-dreamscape of textures. The base is made from fabric scraps from @tiinatalumeesstudio , pink dots are appliqued from scraps of C19 and from @karoliinavillem ‘s dance costume beads.
What really made the skirt are @tanelveenre.art ‘s defective earberries I had the pleasure to pick from his studio a while back.
Thus The Gardener was born- along with a pair of well oiled fis- i mean gardening gloves.

The soft-armored dress itself is made of repurposed lingerie hardware, velvet and double satin ribbons, topped with vintage handmade flowers that I sourced from @aaretelaegas

An article about my work and teaser images from the upcoming @tallinnfashionweek collection out now between the sheets of @elle_baltic , shot by Sandra Luks

This look is called “Where do you end/ I begin” which is inspired by the creative relationships between me and Sandra- I think for both of us there are moments where we catch ourselves thinking “why didn’t I think of that” since both of us create from essentially from the discarded. Great minds think alike and what not.

The shoot took place at the workstudio a day before Sandra & Ann took flight and was edited and sent the same night. It all just took a few calls- Sandra shot it, Ann embodied it, Anne Liis perfected it and even Susanna came and brought the energy.

Posting the other looks individually in due time- but if you can’t wait- get the magazine!

Special thanks to @tiinatalumeesstudio for the blue fabric scraps that shape the dress and Nurme Vabrik for donating their years worth of expired threads- theres ~30 shades of blue in there!

And of course a huge thank you to @elle_baltic and @charles_dengpheng for featuring my work 🫶

This international edition of UPMADE IN.EE / Circular Threads presents the work of Estonian fashion, jewellery and accessory designers through a new editorial series photographed in Toronto by New York-based photographer Mauricio Zelaya.
