It’s taken me a second, but I’m so excited to finally announce this new chapter of my life! I’m headed off to @thebridge.movement in New Jersey for the next two years!!
This opportunity is truly a dream come true, and I feel incredibly grateful and excited for everything that’s ahead. I can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes me. There are so many emotions that come with taking this next step, but more than anything, I’m excited for the journey and all of the memories I’ll make along the way.

Thank you @vdtdance and @field.kimberly for leading, teaching, and mentoring me throughout my dance training. Thank you for believing in me, pushing me to grow, and helping shape me into the dancer and person I am today. I’m forever grateful for the time, love, and guidance you’ve given me.

Mom and Dad, thank you will never be enough. Thank you for believing in my dreams, supporting me through every high and low, and always encouraging me to keep going. I wouldn’t be where I am today without your endless love and support, and I’m so lucky to have you by my side through this next chapter. @barbarabarss @justinbarss

my love letter to uncsa

i’ve spent three summers at @uncsa_summer_dance the first two in the Ballet Intensive, and this year in Dance Connection Now. every summer has been so different, and each program is special in its own way, but this one felt like the perfect close.

this year i had the privilege of working with @aaronchoate_ (sadly not pictured, and i’m still kicking myself for that), who created such a fun yet professional environment for his cast (pictured on the last slide). watching him bring such a mind-blowing piece to life while making the process so enjoyable was an experience i’ll always be grateful for.

i cherished every class, every guest teacher, and every artist talk. each one challenged me to grow not only as a dancer, but as an artist and person. i’m leaving with new perspectives, so much inspiration, and a deeper love for this art form than i came with. thank you to every faculty member, choreographer, and friend who made these weeks so meaningful. especially thank you to @jueldlane for making it all happen!!

the best moments with the best people…

i am so incredibly grateful for every bit of support and praise that i received from friends, family, teachers, mentors, and even strangers: reminding me of even more reasons why i love dance.

throughout this first semester of dance i have felt an immense amount of love and support from @field.kimberly, i am forever grateful for every single thing that Mrs. Kim has done to help me through my dance career. i don’t think i will ever be able to express how much love i have for you. every piece of advice, moment of tough love, correction, compliment, and sweet smile will stick with me throughout this year and the rest of my life. thank you.

i think the fact that this was my last winter show with @vdtdance still hasn’t hit me yet. i’m no where near ready to say goodbye and it’s NOT happening anytime soon. the community at vdt is extremely uplifting from teachers to parents to teammates. vdtpc has also brought me beautiful friendships and memories; im so excited to create many more this comp season! thank you for creating such a safe community.

dancing this sugarplum pas with @tyler_comisford was one of the most magical parts of this season. i’m so lucky to have found such a strong and life long friendship early on. sweet friendship refreshes the soul! thank you for always being so patient and supportive ty, i love you.

last but not least, my parents. they are my rock, my safe haven, my ride or die. the support system that i know will always assist me and my dreams. paying for every weekly class, weekend rehearsal, pop up master class, competition dance, dance attire, pointe shoe, and most of all spending the time to listen, to help, to support me in every way possible. not only do they spend their money to help me succeed but also their time. thank you for everything mom and dad i love you so much.

extra special shout out to my momma @barbarabarss who frantically sewed a new pair of shoes for me during the 11am show (i was rolling off pointe by how dead my shoes were but was ready to keep dancing on them) and my dad @justinbarss who woke up to drive my shoes in.
