Throughout 12 years, I have had hundreds of games, practices, and tournaments. Now, I have nothing else to give to softball. As much as I wanted to continue my career and prove my athletic ability, I had to make a very difficult decision to focus on my future.

Honestly, this is a hard pill to swallow. I ask myself why did I even play? But then I remember the late nights at hotels with my teammates, singing on the bus after a win, going out to eat after practice, spending every weekend with my best friends, cheering in the dugout, road trips with my dad, and the many team bonding activities.

I finally realized softball was never about my batting average, having a starting position, or getting athletic validation. All of the slumps, losses, strikeouts, and errors don’t matter anymore. Softball has made a forever impact on me. I am thankful for the countless memories and many friendships that I have made throughout the years. I realized everything good comes to an end, but I wish I could have one more game. Thank you softball. by @ella.mains
