I did not get the chance to make it to Dani’s prayer service this monday due to traveling in Colorado so i would like to dedicate a few words to Dani, her amazing family, and her close friends.

knowing dani started from the beginning. meeting almost 17 years ago, dani was one of the 8 kids that grew up on dale ave. this was no regular block of kids. we all created a family that was competitive, curious, and imaginative at a very young age. as each of us shined with our one of a kind personalities, we always did everything together. Some of my favorite activities included four square, sardines, pop machine, outside concerts, off road biking and even our own hunger games. our imagination was never dull when we were all together. with four boys and four girls, we had the perfect mix of laughter and childish arguments. dani was the type of girl who could always make u laugh with her bold humor but also her witty way of teasing you that made u question if she’s ur friend or a bully 😭. even if she was laughing at me or with me i still loved being around her. dani was never the type of person you’ll be bored with and thats why she’s truly irreplaceable. selfless as she is, dani has been apart of our community as a neighborhood but invited change, growth and intention to do better within recovery groups. which makes me respect her strength to a whole different level, as she may have needed the recognition herself. my family and I celebrated my moms 50th birthday in Colorado prior to her service. As i was on that trip, i saw so many beautiful skylines and sunsets that made me sit and dedicate the beauty to her. even though we lost a gorgeous girl, i felt like she is where she needs to be now. i am eternally grateful to share the most beautiful and nostalgic memories with her and the rest of my neighborhood family. i couldn’t imagine this story without her in it.
