Well guys…. it’s official! Me and Connor moved out of Colorado and spent our first week in Houston exploring, enjoying the humidity and settling into our new normal. Dr. Boyfriend here accepted a job at the NASA Johnson Space Center like the badass nerd he is, and just had his first day today.. 🥹 dreams do come true… I am incredibly proud of this man and how hard he’s worked to get here, friggin crushed getting his PhD in Aerospace Engineering last year, and now he’s landed at the tippy top. I’m honored to be a part of his journey and join him in this next chapter of our lives together. So excited to share where this adventure takes us. Wow. 2 years, wtf? Hard to put into words what I’m feeling today. Though, as I look back at the past year shown through all these pictures, I’m reminded of how precious life is, and how grateful I am to be here living mine alongside these extraordinary people. I am such a lucky gal to be able to be here today and appreciate how far we’ve come from that crazy July 27th back in 2024. I can’t even believe this bizarre journey I’ve been on through my 26 years here on Earth?? Like whatttt?? Man o man. All I can say is thank you. Thank you to my donor forever and ever, for the ultimate gift and true miracle they gave me. Thank you to my family, my friends, and my community. Thank you to the universe for teaching me that no matter what comes your way, you CAN survive anything. 26! a year full of love and light, couldn’t be more grateful to have such amazing people around me who i love most in this crazy bizarre world. ella 2.0 is happy, healthy, and has a whole life ahead of her! that’s really all i could ask for as i journey around the sun once more. keep healing, keep breathing! we got this. 🫳🎤

i wanted to take a moment to post about my incredible time working at Boulder High School with these AMAZING teachers and now good friends of mine.

it was my first job back into society after my liver transplant, and i couldn’t be more grateful for the things i’ve learned, the relationships i’ve built with the students and colleagues, and being a part of the Adelante team.

i spent time with my Latino and Latina students going to all their classes, helping them with tests, studying, homework, notes on lectures and applying for college as first gen students in their families. i was also given the opportunity to teach a physical science class, and i won my first banana bread competition ever ;) the Adelante program is such an extraordinary place for these kids to feel safe, supported, and cared for especially in an academic setting where they can be easily looked past sometimes, and it was an honor to share the space with them for the past year.

our teachers deserve wayyyyy more credit than they’re given, and they are so much of the reason why our kids in the next generations want to be growing, learning, and are excited as well as encouraged to make the world a better place. proud is an understatement for what i feel towards these students, their futures, and the teachers who work so hard every day to support them. i am so inspired to continue a career in teaching because of these wonderful people who have had the best influence on me, and my admiration for all teachers just continues to grow.
