Goodbye Foxy brown, you were the first horse I ever loved so letting you go hurt but you knew it was time. I love you.

Foxy has been in my life since I was born. She was owned by a friend for my early years and durring that time I grew to think she was mine. I would wrap around her legs and she would be careful not to move or hurt me. Later she was sold to folks off the island and I was devastated, we thought we would never see her again. Imagine our surprise when almost 10 years later we found her photo posted on a horse salesmans page. She was lame from an old back injury and needed some work to get better but it was her. We were quick to bring her home and with us is where she stayed. Classes, trails, or just in the paddock this girl had an undeniable presence. Spiciest red mare with the biggest heart. Though most of her life with us she limped that never slowed her down, she was always the leader of the pack.
Yesterday we awoke to commotion in the barn and we're terrified to find her down with another back injury. No vets were able to come out so we did what we could. She was able to move after a bit but she was in pain and we knew that. We tried to make her as comfortable as possible and went to bed after a long day of watching over her hoping that whatever pain meds we could give her would be enough. Unfortunately she was too far gone tho and no vets were able to make it out to us in time so when we awoke this morning she was gone.
Thank you for being the best girl ever, now you get to rest and frolic in the field with all your old friends, l love you. by @ellablodgett52
