🌺Blurb:🌺

Their match was meant to serve the Empire. Instead, it may destroy it.

Sabine Almarien has survived on cleverness and careful obscurity. But when a mark said to bind her to a magically perfect match appears on her skin, the Empire forces her into the Season: a cruel marriage mart where blood vows determine magical power.

Worse, her supposedly perfect match is Lord Death himself.

Azrian Vaelros—the Emperor’s ruthless enforcer—has buried one wife already. He has no interest in another 🩸 vow, least of all with a maddening woman who despises everything he represents.

But the Emperor gives him no choice.

To survive the Season, they strike a careful bargain: a fake courtship to satisfy imperial scrutiny while quietly searching for a way out of their arranged marriage. But when other marked couples turn up 💀 , Sabine and Azrian are drawn into a shared investigation that binds them closer than either intended. Each truth pulls them deeper into each other’s orbit… and into a conspiracy at the heart of the Empire itself.

As their 🩸 vow approaches, they’ll have to choose: become the perfect weapons the Empire demands, or forge something far more dangerous.

🌸Blurb🌸

Their love is forbidden. But some prices are worth paying.

By the Season’s end, Virelle Celastra must secure a match to save her family from financial ruin. She has a plan. She has a target. What she does not have room for is Shadow spy Caelen Thornevail.

He’s wrong in every way that truly matters to the Gilt. No title. No fortune. No business looking at her as if she’s the only light in his life. Yet, the mysterious mark now burning beneath her stays draws her to him like true North. But surre by @ellalau.author

✨About the author✨

Ella was born in Italy and raised in boarding schools across Europe, which, in hindsight, was probably her gothic villain origin story. She’s been writing angsty romances while listening to 2000’s pop-rock since before she had any business doing so. The soundtrack hasn’t changed much (the 2000s gave us some absolute bops and she’ll die on that hill), but the romance has gotten spicier.

She writes morally-grey MMCs, FMCs with a strong eldest daughter energy, all the found families, queer-positive stories, endless banter, and enemies-to-lovers tension.

✨FAQ✨

Q: Is TMaV the second book in the Soulmark Cycle?
A: While TMaV is the second book published, it’s a companion novel, and not the second book in the series.

Q: What order should TBaV and TMaV be read in?
A: They can be read in any order, though for the best experience I recommend either starting with TBaV or tandem reading.

Q: How many books are planned in the Soulmark Cycle?
A: Four books in the main series (non inclusive of things like companion novels).

Q: When is the next book in the series coming out?
A: Early 2027. Currently planned for May, if I can release it early I will.

Q: Will the next books match the new TBaV cover?
A: Yes. All the new books will match the new TBaV cover be released in a similar deluxe hardcover.

Q: Will we ever be able to listen to the Soulmark Cycle in audio?
A: I don’t know, will you? 🤭

Q: Will we see you at any events soon?
A: None planned, but more in-person bookish conventions are a goal of mine for 2027! by @ellalau.author

Tell me your battery percentage, and I'll recommend a Romantasy to read next. Or, in other words... how unhinged are your phone charging habits? 😂

Let me know in the comments what your percentage is and what book you got! by @ellalau.author

Happy Halloween!

Masquerades are a common occurrence in Ilvarenne, and Lady Delarine's is among the most coveted invitations of the Season! Swipe to see what the characters from The Soulmark Cycle would wear for it...

The last one might be a bit unhinged 🤭 by @ellalau.author

Something scary (good) this way comes...

The @farosociety Stuff your e-reader: 99¢ book blast is happening NOW! And this year, it’s got a fun little Halloween theme going on 🎃

Ok, yes, you will see the scribbled-out number on the second slide of this post and ask... Ella, what the heck happened?

Well, my friends, the plot happened. Or rather, didn't happen, because I realized an entire plot point of the book hinged on fundamentally flawed character development, so... I scrapped it 😅

Things are going much more smoothly now that I've ironed out that kink, but unfortunately, it means we backtracked a little. Ops.

Hopefully the yearning and pining in this second installment will be worth the wait. by @ellalau.author

Fall is THE BEST season, hands down, and I will take no objections on that matter. And what is better in fall than cozy, hot drinks?

If you are also the kind of person who (rightfully) loves Fall and Fall drinks, this is the game for you! Pick a drink, get a romantasy rec (you will have to read to find out why each drink fits the bill). by @ellalau.author

I love this video by @amimbia so much… I had to use it with this sound!!
