How do we determine the difference between what’s real and what’s fake? What’s a lie and what’s a truth? What’s authentic and what’s performative?

Does it really matter?
If we know His truth, is every and any other point moot?

We know He died and rose again.
We know we must love everyone as we love ourselves. Just as Jesus loves them we must too.

For me I’m working on accepting what I know to be true and loving the mystery of what I don’t.

I don’t care to seek truth in an ever changing world, and you shouldn’t either.

I usually get inspiration this time of year to share something I’ve learned or am learning. Right now I feel frustrated. At the moment, I feel like an eternal student of life, with Jesus as my teacher. I don’t believe that will ever change. Each morning that God wakes me is a green light. It’s a daily reminder that in Him I have purpose. I’ve been making a conscious effort to look for God’s green lights a lot recently. Obvious green lights look like success, answered prayers, and new beginnings. Not so obvious green lights can look like failure, repeated failure. Failure is a call to something different. Failure is a sign that you are attempting something new. If you find yourself in a season of repeated failure, I encourage you to ask God for revelation in that area, a new angle, a fresh perspective. This is not a sign to throw in the towel but an offer to be called higher. Ask Him for wisdom, and it will be given.

What walls have you built to protect yourself from past experiences? What boundaries have you set to prevent history from repeating? What shield are you using to guard yourself from the things that once hurt you?

I used to think all boundaries were good. I thought they made me mature. I thought they made me strong. What I failed to realize is that while a wall might protect you, it also holds you captive. It will hold your soul prisoner in a never ending cycle of trauma. Forbidding you to heal and move on.

You don’t trust God so you never open the gate. You don’t trust God so you’ll never let Him hold your hand when you walk paths that once made you tremble. You’ll never let Him challenge a boundary that would lead you deeper into relationship with Him.

On the other side of every wall is breakthrough. Hold hope close to your heart and trust fall into His warm embrace. He’ll never let you go.

Would we be happier if everything was just black & white? Simple, straightforward answers to every question? Yes or no? Or do we prefer the beauty of spectrums? Maybe? Possibly? The unknown. Mystery. The grey area. From this place we develop our own opinions. We make art here. This is where I find love in my own life. Always looking for the balance but never finding it. But isn’t that the point? Maybe the point has always been to learn from and love what we discover along the way. by @ellaleebaker
