Entering another pageant system a year ago today, i was told I’d be competing against 3 other girls. What they didn’t tell me was I’d be gaining 3 sisters❤️

Alanna I am so proud of the elegant, smart young woman you’ve become in your year of service. You proved time and time again you were meant for this role and you carried it with grace and strength. For your rookie year and being the “baby” of the group you did an incredible job.

Johanna! You are proof that hard work pays off. Following your journey of hard work this past year has been so wonderful and now you get to spread your passion with the world. Having similar csi’s last year i was grateful someone shares the same passion for spreading awareness for anti bullying and i know you’ll do great things with your title!

And Ruthie, you are definition of class. Your presence is so powerful and you light up every room you enter. Im so so excited for your year ahead and cant wait to see what you do as Miss Maine❤️ by @ellaworcesterofficial

I’ve had to take the time to find the right words to express my gratitude for pageants and i think this is pretty close
Pageants have taught me a lot of life lessons. Jumping into a world at 17 years old where most girls start earlier has been hard but taught me a lot. It taught me discipline, hard work, determination, but most of all how important it is to have a support system and how to uplift others.

To my coaches, Eva, you stepped into this role so gracefully and with so much faith for me. Your love and passion for pageantry rubbed off on me in the best way and i could not be more grateful.
Kaet, joining your team has been nothing short of a blessing. You uplift me and keep me honest and true with myself and I’m so thankful to have you.

To my parents, I know this has been a big commitment and a big transition from lax and football tournaments, but thank you for the support and love.

To my friends, Amanda, the best photographer and supporter I could not have done it without you. Gabby, Ava, Andrew, and all of my other favorite people, thank you for listening to my rants, watching me practice, and being supportive.

Finally to pageants, you’ve grown me from a girl to a woman. I’ve never been able to know who I truly was until I stepped into a role of a pageant girl. 2 years of hard work and discipline, countless sleepless nights, 60+ hours of community service, and months of advocacy for my platforms payed off because even without a crown, I grew into Ella.

This isn’t goodbye, just a see you later.

As We reach the middle of May, I wanted to share my story and my “why”, because I think it’s important for people to know that not everything you see on social media is not perfect.
Mental health is something I’ve become grown passionate about because of the experiences I’ve had growing up. As an athlete, there is a lot of pressure to always look and perform a certain way, and that caused me to struggle with body image and confidence. I also know how much words can affect someone because I’ve experienced bullying and understand how damaging it can be to a person’s mental health and self-esteem. Losing someone close to me because of mental health made me realize how serious these struggles truly are and how important it is for people to have support and feel heard. Because of everything I’ve been through, my mission is to help break the stigma around mental health, encourage people to not only be kind and help one another, but to speak up about what they’re going through, and remind others that they are never alone.
