From Christmas romance to political thrillers, my books follow people facing hard choices, real danger, and the kind of love that holds steady under pressure.

Corralling the Cowboy and Healing the Hero represent the engaging romance side of my bookshelf. I’ve contributed heartfelt contemporary romance to multi-author collections including Christmas in Redemption Ridge, Heroes of Freedom Ridge, Lawkeeper, and Blushing Brides. These stories are written for readers who enjoy clean romance, honorable heroes, and love stories shaped by courage and faith.

Grave Pursuits begins my Pennsylvania Parks series, where the wild beauty of the state I love becomes the backdrop for mystery, danger, and slow-burn romance. This Christian romantic suspense series follows park rangers, state troopers, and others who must face threats that test both courage and conviction.

Midnight Masquerade, book two in my Toxic Truths series, is a 2026 Carol Award Finalist in Mystery / Thriller / Suspense. The series follows CIA and Homeland Security operatives through high-stakes missions where faith and duty collide, for readers who like political thrillers, military thrillers, clean suspense, and stories with conscience and consequence.

Have we met?

I’m Elle E. Kay, a Bible-believing Christian romantic suspense author who dabbles in children’s books and graphic design/cover design.

I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Reading and writing are my passions. I also love music that glorifies God.

Earlier in life, I worked as a legal secretary, then a paralegal, and even worked in human resources and tech support. I retired from GlaxoSmithKline, where I worked in patents and trademarks before transferring to HR. I was a Letters, Arts, and Sciences major with a focus on the sciences.

All of that finds its way into my stories in one way or another. Legal work, science, faith, family, danger, romance, and the beauty of Pennsylvania all shape the books I write.

Readers keep telling me this one sticks with them for the hard faith stuff in the middle of the chaos. One wrote that she especially liked how the story shows “the heartache caused by a Christian dating a non-Christian,” and she’d hand it to romantic suspense and Christian romance readers alike.

Amy Grant had a song many years ago by that title: I Have Decided. Hearing it today made me think of those of us who sit on the fence, trying to straddle good and evil, wanting to be a light to this broken world, but afraid to fully turn from the darkness. I spent a number of years in that place. It’s not a good place to be. We are called to make a decision. And to make it fully. James is written to the twelve tribes of Israel scattered abroad, not to the church, the body of Christ, but we can take spiritual application from it.

James 1:8
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

If a double minded man is unstable then, obviously, we don’t want to be that. How can we avoid it? The answer presents itself further on in James.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

If we submit ourselves to God, fully, then we have made a commitment. We have decided to follow God and resist the devil. If we are doing that, He will help us get off the fence and live fully for Him. We can’t perfect ourselves, we can only submit to the Spirit of God and let Him work the change in us. Our works can never save us. Works can never make us complete, perfect. Nevertheless, we should keep right on working. We should do good works out of our love for God, not out of our desire to earn our salvation.

2 Timothy 3:17
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

When I think about all the lukewarm Christians out there, trying to stay part of the world despite being called to “…come out from among them, and be ye separate…” (2 Cor 6:17), I am saddened. I hope they will realize that life is so much better when you fully commit to the Lord. I’m not suggesting that everything is roses and sunshine, or that you won’t have health problems and heartaches. I’m suggesting that a full relationship with Christ Jesus means more than the earthly things we think can make us happy. So, submitting really is the only option for me. It isn’t always easy, and sometimes I fail, but it’s worth the effort to give my little world up to Him and see what He does with it.
