This letter has been ready for a while now.
Because the truth is — most women who come to me aren’t struggling because something is wrong with them.
They’re struggling because they were never taught that their pleasure was theirs to begin with.
They were taught to perform it. Perfect it. Offer it up.
Never to actually feel it.
That’s not a personal failing.
That’s a societal one.
And it ends the moment a woman decides —
I am done performing a life I should be feeling.

This is one of the most common things I see in my work.
A woman who loves her partner. Who wants to want him. Who starts every intimate moment full of hope —
And then goes completely numb the moment things get started.
She’s not broken. She’s not checked out of her relationship.
Her nervous system just learned somewhere along the way that being present, being vulnerable, being felt —
Wasn’t safe.
That’s not a character flaw. That’s a pattern.
And patterns can change.
