My boy got paid in bacon bits for this stellar performance 🥓
I present to you my first colorwork sweater, started circa 2023, 98% complete by end of 2025. The goal was to learn colorwork which I did and so I left it in the WIP pile like an absolute savage, missing one single cuff, and merrily moved on to colorwork socks.
Then Kate heard about this shameful situation and gently challenged me to actually be a decent human being 😆

Justin is Rhinebeck-ready!! 👨‍🚀🌞🪨
Intarsia is still a skill to be conquered because this is duplicate stitching, but hey. 2027 me will totally be mastering it 😄

Road Trip Kerchief inception, so I can match Justin’s hat in that perfect fall green! No yarn rolled into the river so that’s a win🍁

Is it 100% the movie color scheme - not exactly. But did I at least follow the pattern? Not precisely either. But it’s all good it’s going to be just fine 🫣😆 by @ellefaitmaison

The fun part about not knowing much about the rules of knitting is that now I will have a pair of the softest alpaca socks, absolutely not durable, but oh so cozy 😄

I was watching a video about spinning and learnt a thing or two about plying, which type works best for what, and apparently this soft and fluffy two ply alpaca is for sure not sock yarn and who knew, right…?… 😅

Anyways, I’m knitting these socks with the yarn my daughter gifted me, scraps from other projects I loved, and using one of the socks my grandma knit for me when I was a teen as my pattern. I love seeing her techniques in this knit versus what’s I’ve learnt so far, and now I see whether she slipped or just knit double, how she increased, and other little details of her knitting and it brings such a sweet and soothing connection even after all these years. Her name was Marguerite, and she was an absolute rockstar of a woman 🌼 by @ellefaitmaison

It’s time to hibernate my Thea top for all the right reasons ☺️
I could’ve finished it, technically there was time before summer ended, but these very important things happened:

👠✈️ Watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 on the plane with Léonie, but in French. Half fun, half traumatizing

🌅 🌊 Took all the pier walks and watched all the west coast sunsets over giant waves. People watching was peak too 👀

🪨🚀 Started a Wolf cardi for my hubby, but Project Hail Mary version. Can I finish it before Rhinebeck?!?!

Heavy usage of both the ferns and the doggo as props this season 😄🌿
This cardi has easily taken the top spot on my list of favorite handmade goodies, even though it took me a year a a half to finish it 😅 I guess that’s the curse of having multiple WIPs, but that part keeps me going because I love picking the “project of the day” out of the drawer.
I stalled on this piece for multiple reasons and one was the fact that I was paralyzed at the idea of broken ribbing in the round for the sleeves 🫣. I didn’t know how I was going to recognize a “break” row from a regular row and was ready for a brain melting experience for the entirety of the sleeves! It turns out it was much easier than I thought when purling with yarn under, so the stitches were easily recognizable and so the sleeves were a breeze… who knew 😂
The buttons on this cardi are from my mom’s stash, which was her grandmother’s stash, and after deciding between pink ones of these brown ones I basically ended up with a replica of the original model on the pattern… whoops, but also doesn’t that mean it’s just a beautiful combo?! I do have a plan to switch buttons and turn the project into a spring version when the time comes so it’ll make it unique next year 🌸

🌿Finished this Flock Vest ages ago but you know how it goes… FO vs photo of the FO… two very different things 🤗

But anyways, would this really be a decent summer picture of mine without the mandatory patio ferns? They’re called macho ferns but I like to call them nacho ferns for a more festive vibe 🌮

A week that was equally the worst and the absolute best because work was really being extra dramatic, but friendships old and new made everything feel softer… and added an unexpected T Swift theme to the party as well 🦖🥔🌵🙅🏻‍♀️🗑️

I did breeze through two amazing books this week though - am I a thriller kinda person now…?! Loved Mad Mabel in the way I wasn’t expecting the story to go, and loved The Wrong Family for how it really makes you rethink your housing situation 😰 by @ellefaitmaison
