I’m feeling grieved.

NKJV: “THEREFORE, TO HIM WHO KNOWS TO DO GOOD AND DOES NOT DO IT, TO HIM IT IS SIN.”

->

The Lord knows we all fall short of the glory of God, but in James 4 we’re reminded that as believers we’re accountable for what we know is right. Our flesh craves attention, validation, and its own desires, but the spirit is constantly leading us towards God. Not every conviction is spelled out word for word in scripture yet God has given us His spirit to discern what pleases Him and what doesn’t. When the Holy Spirit convicts us and we choose to ignore that conviction we’re still choosing sin. James 4:17 says, “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” Conviction isn’t something to dismiss. It’s a gift that keeps us close to God.
