6 months ago today marks the hardest, most challenging, and most life changing week of my life. shortly after 1pm on June 22nd i was admitted to peyton manning children’s hospital due to liver failure. i was dying and fighting for my life while my other organs continued to fail on me. I was terrified and didn’t understand what was going on or how this could happen to ME. all i could think was why didn’t my doctors do their jobs when i told them i was sick, and i don’t want to die. my mom being the amazing woman she is never left my side. she ate with me, slept with me, carried me to the bathroom when i couldn’t walk, and stayed up and sobbed with me while i was in unbearable pain and unable to move. she didn’t know if everything was going to be okay, but she put a smile on her face everyday like it was, she made me laugh when all i wanted to do was cry, and made sure i knew i had someone in my corner. childhood chronic sickness and disease is a real thing, and it’s life threatening. please listen to your body, and if your doctors aren’t listening to you please continue to push for answers. you know your body. your gut will tell you when something isn’t right. although my case is rare, it still happens, and it could’ve been prevented. in light of how bittersweet this is, today is about moving on. i’m alive, im stronger, i love harder, and i will NEVER take the abilities my body has for granted again. i’m thankful to be here, today is about awareness, and letting go and letting it be. 💌 taken in Peyton Manning Children's Hospital by @ellemwilczynski
