Tunnel to Towers. 2026. Pictures from the day along with a picture from 2022 - the last time Anthony did it with Sal. It was nice to do it with him and gave me time to reflect on the horrific event that happened just a week after I moved to NYC. I can basically set my New York time clock from 9/11. I jogged the whole time (miraculously) and Sal stayed with me instead of going ahead. After the race, we got to see some family that came into town for the event which was a real treat and Sal’s old middle school teacher who is an unbelievable human. It was rainy and disgusting out, but it was good for the soul. by @ellen.grayce.7

I don’t think early childhood educators should take federal loans. I think we should give them their education for free and then throw them a party every month because of the important, hard work they do. I think we should pay them better than people in finance and people in tech because of all my jobs, it’s the hardest one I’ve ever had. So no, I don’t think we should saddle them with loans. Instead, we should lift them up and shout from the rooftops how lucky we are to have early childhood educators continue to come to work each day, paid so much less than they are worth in a society that values the wrong things, and do the incredible and vital work that they do. What a joke. Fixing the wrong problem. That is all! by @ellen.grayce.7

On our way to one of our last rehearsals. I feel so lucky that I get to do a show with this girl this summer. This is my third show in the span of four months. 😴 Getting back into doing shows again has been incredibly exhausting, but also incredibly fulfilling in a very different way than my normal 24 hour work and parenting life. And this show with her is so special - the first and hopefully not the last! We open on Friday! by @ellen.grayce.7

TWENTY YEARS
Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since this beautiful day. I’ve spent some time thinking about that day and reflecting and remembering in the last few weeks. Obviously it hits different when your partner is no longer here. But I’m so happy to have these wonderful memories. Memories of great friends and family in the wedding and at the wedding. Memories of the bonfire and party the night before. Memories of wearing my grandmother‘s wedding dress. Memories of Alexis singing Ave Maria and my friend Laurie singing with my brother Charles who met at our wedding and ended up getting married just a little more than a year later. And of many other family members being there for us this day also singing or reading or participating. Memories of my sister Laurajeanne giving a beautiful speech and Anthony’s best men spending a good amount of time teasing and insulting him, rightly so. Our first dance, an Argentine tango, choreographed expertly for us, but very likely not performed expertly. The live band, which was our biggest splurge, playing all the best songs. Anthony making homemade cannoli in the kitchen with the facility staff. An almost full reception Jager shot. A kick line to New York, New York. An after party where I will always remember an unnamed best man rolling a wheel of cheese along the floor and my mom letting him know how she felt about that… a beautiful start to a beautiful life. It’s easy to get down on these anniversaries and it’s very sad that he is no longer with us, for me and particularly for my kids, but it’s hard to look back at this day 20 years ago and the 20 years we had together dating and being married before he passed away and be anything but grateful. Somewhere in my house is a CD of all the pictures in tiff files because that’s all my husband would allow but since it’s safely hidden away after 20 years of living, I’m sharing a few photos of photos from our photo book with pictures of the day…thank you to all of you who were there and made it special. Thank you to all of those who saw Anne of Green Gables last night or are coming to see it! Can’t wait to get back on stage tonight :)

I’ve shared some posts but letting you know I am in another production on August 21, 22 and 23rd of the musical Nine. Very excited to get this off the ground and really jump into rehearsals next week. It’s a very small house and some dates have less than 10 tickets left - in case you want to see it (you should, it’s going to be good!), here’s the link:
