My heart is heavy, but it still beats for Palestine. Since 2021 we stood there, holding our flags and our pain, shouting for justice into a world that didn’t seem to listen. But we showed up anyway, because we knew that even a whisper for truth is stronger than a scream for war. And then yesterday — Malta, the country I chose to call home three years ago, recognizing Palestine as a state. I felt hope. I felt the weight of every chant, every march, every tear that brought us here. But my heart is still broken. Because even as history is being made, people are still dying. Families are still being wiped out. Children are still being buried before they’ve had a chance to live. Recognition should have come long before the graves. Freedom should have come before the famine. It hurts to celebrate progress when it’s built on so much loss.
It hurts to know that the world could have stopped this — and didn’t. But even with a broken heart, I still believe: Palestine will be free 🇵🇸❤️‍🩹 by @ellen_bogen
