@nursingqueenclothing summer update ☀️ Here’s a couple of new tops and a dress I’m loving this season!

I’m growing weary of my wardrobe at the moment. It’s the same 5-10 shirts because it doesn’t seem worth the hassle to wear anything without very quick breastfeeding access.

So I’m always thankful to Nursing Queen for adding a few extra items into that rotation! Especially ones that work with these 100° summer days. #ad by @ellenbryan

These people - they made Miss Ohio week possible.

My five-month-old was along for the ride, but unless she was being held by me, she was crying. Not an easy task when I needed to be on stage every night.

A major thanks to my mom @grandlake_living_with_ginny, the crew and contestants for letting my baby be part of it all. It was stressful last week, but I’m grateful for the reunion with some of my favorite people. ♥️ by @ellenbryan

15 years, 4 states, 3 kids & a husband later… I returned to the Miss Ohio stage.

I like to return about every other year to emcee and see everyone, but this year felt significant as it marked 15 years since winning Miss Ohio 2011.

More on making this work (or not work) with a 5 month old in tow 😬, but for now, a glimpse of the fun on stage. A massive thank you to @henriscloud9 for letting me borrow a few gowns for the week. by @ellenbryan

Speaking at the American Mothers Inc National Conference! Grateful to have an understanding room of women who have been in my current sleep deprived state. They even encouraged me to bring the baby because there would be plenty of babysitters in the audience. ♥️

Truth is… I always forget about how this stage of postpartum is such an uphill climb. My husband remembers, but I always forget! Ha.

I gave this speech in tennis shoes, a comfortable outfit and definitely no fake eyelashes. The speech was about motherhood - and my thoughts about this role change daily. I wondered if I would agree with anything I said in this speech by next year.

However, I now understand why none of your children have the same parents. We are so different with our third child than our first.

I’m getting ready to spend a full week on stage emceeing and it seems daunting. I’m still exclusively breastfeeding and my body holds onto every ounce of fat it can until I’m done nursing. So my clothes don’t fit well. Plus, the baby slept through the night a total of ONE time in sixth months (nothing like our first two children!). So I’ve spent half a year sleeping in 2-3 hour chunks.

The world thinks you’re healed and fully back to yourself. But the truth is everything about my life is still geared for the baby. Not to mention my toddler and “big kid.”

I’ve found peace in knowing it won’t be like this forever, and to not hurry through this time. According to my husband, I won’t remember the challenges of this time anyway. Haha! One day I’ll wear the high heels and lashes to give a speech again. For now… the win is giving a 45 minute keynote at all. by @ellenbryan

#ad I’ve worn @nursingqueenclothing for YEARS. It’s my favorite breastfeeding clothing line (as I hope you genuinely see in this video!), so I reached out to them to see if I can help spread the word to other new moms.

They sent over these two new sweaters to try. I honestly think Nursing Queen has only gotten better at making nursing clothing:

• Wider zippers than before
• Variety of styles
• Durability & quality of fabric

Some of these sweatshirts I’ve had since my first baby (just had my third) and they’ve been spit up on and washed so many times. Yet, they are still holding up.

Bottom line, it just feels good to have clothes you can wear and easily feed your baby, especially when you’re on the go. This postpartum period is challenging - you’re still sacrificing so much of your body for your child. But having a dress or sweater that makes you feel comfortable and a little more like yourself can make all the difference. by @ellenbryan

Not blinking. I’ve been taking so many videos of the “ordinary” daily moments within our messy house this month. Every moment seems like pure magic right now. I study my kids faces as they tell me a long never-to-the-point story, hoping to sear this moment into my memory forever. I’m here for it all, especially the chaos. I cheer on their milestones, but secretly think, “Ah! Not so fast.” Motherhood. What a privilege packed with so much love.

(The song choice: I feel lucky to have these moments of goodness, at a time when the world feels so chaotic. “Heal the World” calmed my daughter in the car this morning (she’s not a fan of the minivan) and I think it will become our daily soundtrack.) by @ellenbryan

I’ve been giving @oofos a try! My first thoughts: They’re so light and incredibly supportive. And they’ve worked great 9 months pregnant to now postpartum.

My feet were very swollen at the end of this pregnancy. My other tennis shoes had stopped fitting. But these @oofos fit! And even more surprising to me, they still fit now even when I can see my ankles again.

I’ve kept them as my indoor shoe, but have been looking at getting another pair to use outdoors. I’ve not tried them in a workout yet. So that would be the next test. But for easy walking and being on your feet chasing kids around? No complaints! #gifted by @ellenbryan

The house is quiet. Our company is gone. The kids are back at school. My brain is silently downloading everything that happened the last three weeks.

I tried to be a good “patient,” but I know I’m a frustrating one to help out. The truth is what helps me heal most during the postpartum period is silence, calm and everything to remain in its place in the house.

Those things don’t mix well with the holiday season and our older children who were home for most of three weeks. Throw in my plummeting hormones after giving birth and wow. What a challenge. So THANK YOU to the village that spent these last several weeks with us. For the meals, the childcare, and the continuous clean up.

Sitting here in silence, with my baby girl napping on my belly instead of inside it, I can feel my eyes stinging for the first time. I thought, “Why do they hurt so much?” Ohhh yeah, because I’ve been sleeping in 45 minute chunks for weeks. I rarely thought about that these last couple weeks.

So let this realization allow me to set aside some time to finally slow down and soak in our daughter’s young life. One day we’ll tell her all about the chaos of bringing her home during the holidays. Chaos! But what a start to her story. by @ellenbryan

Got the photos back from emceeing while 9 months pregnant. @reesewaters said, “I can’t believe you wanted to emcee this year!” But it was for the @dc.water’s Stars of Water - an event I’ve emceed for nearly a decade. There’s no saying no to Team Blue. And we didn’t have the baby that night. So it all worked out. 😉 taken in MGM National Harbor Resort and Casino by @ellenbryan
