happy new year! 🥳

I thought I would use this opportunity to reintroduce myself and share a few fun facts (big first day of school vibes) 🫶

🌱 I’m 25, grew up in Wellington and have lived in Auckland for 7 years now
🌱 I gave up meat in September 2017, and went full vegan about three years later
🌱 my partner eats meat but is a great cook and always makes me epic vegan meals
🌱 my username comes from when I first went vege and found myself eating a lot of broccoli because I didn’t really know how to cook
🌱 I go to the gym most days and ran my first half marathon last year
🌱 my go-to way to introduce people to veganism is by making them delicious food - sausage rolls and chocolate chip cookies are my secret weapons
🌱 I used to be quite a picky eater and now the only things I won’t even try are coffee and beetroot (and animal products, lol)
🌱 my goal for 2024 is to try at least one new recipe every week to avoid getting stuck in a rut

and that’s me! I created this account because I love following other kiwi vegans and connecting with like-minded people 💛 by @elleneatsbroccoli

three years ago, after three years of not eating meat, I was phasing myself out of dairy products.

I was no longer buying or cooking with dairy, but wasn’t strict on food other people were providing to me.

the last dairy product I ate was my partners mums birthday cake - a gorgeous ube cake - and the next day, I decided I couldn’t do it any longer and committed to full veganism.

this year, for her birthday, I fed the family homemade vegan ube cookies and reflected on how far I’ve come in those three years 🌱 by @elleneatsbroccoli

FINALLY made it to @easteatsnz for lunch this weekend! We had the spicy eggplant, edamame and lettuce cups 💚 the eggplant was definitely the best thing and I will absolutely be coming back - probably for dinner instead so I can eat more!! taken in East Restaurant by @elleneatsbroccoli
