Trick or Treat!

Reposting this because I realized I could make it closer to a phone ratio. 😅 This was a little experiment in photoshop + an homage to the scratchboard art we made in elementary school as a kid.

It's Kabocha season! 🍂 Not doing an October prompt list this year, but still cheering on anyone who is! It's always so fun to discover and share art this time of year. by @ellenhee

This 5x7 gouache on paper piece is exhibiting at a Ghibli Inspired show this month! Even though I didn't reference the characters, I feel that a lot of the nostalgic and natural motifs in my work trace their inspiration back to the animations I watched growing up. Check out the show if you are near Westminster, CA and thanks to @artsupplywarehouse for organizing! ;)

Watercolor always feels extra tricky to me but it's just so appealing, I want to get better at it. I drew this to commemorate going to an Obon festival for the first time.

Street dancing, or Bon Odori, was the most unique cultural experience I've ever taken part in. One child's yukata was tied with a big gauzy ribbon, and I thought that was charming. by @ellenhee

Summer is finally here and it reminds me of turquoise waters and wide brim hats ~

Was so happy to receive beautiful handmade crayons in the mail from @studiounto ! They were so fun to use and blended well with just a touch of oil pastel. by @ellenhee
