If you are curious as to why certain incidents seem to be obscure or “too weird” please take the time to watch this video. Do not let the feelings of “there are problems everywhere” distract you from the fact that these problems are in fact connected. Death and pain are not things that should be normalized or ignored because it’s “overwhelming”. It’s overwhelming because at our core as humans we know that what is happening is unnatural. We are not meant to be here to be comfortable we are meant to be here to live, and to help others live. The moment we excuse allowing others to live we tell our subconscious that we Weill in turn not be able to live unless we ignore these things. Make yourself aware, and teach yourself about the connections between all of these things. Anyone who knows me well, as in beyond what others think of me, knows how critical I am about information and learning. Anyone who knows me well knows I am also a joyful person, it is because do not look truth in the face and quiver. It’s not about being on the right side of history, it’s about being apart of history that didn’t trudge through the blood of innocent children because looking down at the sea that surrounds us no matter what, was too painful. 💛 by @elleoquently

And the moment any of yall are called out whether it be a white or NON BLACK Latino person, the gayest man ever, or the most allied white person yall end up being defensive! The real work starts with you dismantling your privilege and doing REAL work. I am no longer holding space for allies who do nothing or non black people (regardless of what language was your first language) who just want to satiate their guilt. The people in this country with privilege allowed this to happen. So next time you want to argue with a black or brown (not tan or off white) person remember that we are being profiled now based on how we look by someone who benefits from the same privileges as you. This is your fault. And I genuinely do not care if I offend anyone. I am so TIRED! by @elleoquently
