*disclaimer* 2025 just prepare to be sick of me!!!
Story time: Last year May, I got a call to cast another Lifetime film but at the 25th hour it went to another CD, but my Producer was super apologetic and was like I have another project after this…BET! (I did another film first #staytuned for that). Initially I thought I was casting the entire film still not knowing what the film was…fast forward a month or so later it was a bio pic about Lisa Lisa. STOP IT! I was super excited! @iamtwinkiebyrd is the Executive Producer and she is casting the top five roles. Oh ok, bet…LaQuanda you got this! My first bio pic AND I grew up listening to Lisa Lisa AND @tailiahbreon was directing! A dream of an opportunity to have been able to cast all the local talent! Moral of the story: I lost the first film and didn’t know what I was going to do but look at the blessings that came from waiting #whatsforyouisforyou …I don’t take anything for granted & I am grateful for every opportunity and I would be lying if I didn’t say I AM EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!! 2025 is already starting out to be a remarkable year!!!! I’m EXCITED to announce TURF will be streaming on @watchallblk!!!! This is my first project to be on any platform and I am so grateful to @mastermyndbrett for taking a chance on me! WOW, I knew this was coming but when I was scrolling on my IG I wasn’t expecting to the see the post and when I swiped and saw TURF I literally screamed; ask @shawntaejarmiah cause I was talking to him on the phone 😂

The last time Jvon & I worked on his birthday was back in 2021 & he turned 20yrs old…today my oldest son turns 25 🤯

September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month & on this last day of September I’m going to share my story. October 8, 1979 I was born with Sickle Cell Anemia. I was an extremely sick child. I was in the hospital so much I thought it was a normal place everyone went to… St. Francis Hospital Children’s floor was like Cheers, everyone knew my name lol

Having Sickle Cell has been apart of my journey my entire life and most of the time I battle my illness silently. When I first started ElleQ Casting, I would be in the hospital with my MacBook booking talent. I have always been a fighter, since I was a child & the doctors told my mother I wouldn’t live past seven years old I have always done what those told me I could not do….this journey is a long one but let’s fast forward to February, 2026 my shoulder surgery 🙏🏽

When I was 27 I was diagnosed with Avascular necrosis which meant the bone in my shoulder was deteriorating because not enough oxygen was flowing through my blood stream etc…but because I was only 27 I was too young for surgery fast forward almost 20yrs I’m going to have the surgery.

A normal person’s hemoglobin is around 12-16, mine is 8…when you have surgery your blood level naturally drops which was a concern for my surgeon but I was cleared for surgery because that was a normal level for me, however, my surgeon wanted me to get my blood checked a few days after my surgery.

Tuesday February 18, 2026 I woke up knowing I was going to get my blood checked but something didn’t feel right so I asked my son to take me to the ER. My oxygen level was extremely low and they immediately brought me back to a room. The doctors discovered I had a pulmonary embolism and they told me if I hadn’t come in I wouldn’t have made it another day. I had a blood clot in my lungs #saywhatnow
I was in the ICU for three days, hospitalized for six but GOD 🙏🏽

A simple surgery procedure turned into a life or death experience….that is sickle cell. #sicklecellawareness #sicklecellwarrior

I deal with my illness in private but look at what GOD has done for me. I am blessed beyond any measure 🙏🏽❤️💪🏽 by @elleq.everything

#sundayfunday #dayatthemuseum Wonderful time today at the @highmuseumofart w/ @shawntaejarmiah @1summerknight_ & @itsshaymax I’ve been wanting to take them to see the @asherald exhibit for weeks and it did not disappoint! Every portrait was absolutely breathtaking, the attention to detail was incredible. The storytelling was amazing because every piece told a story…it was an honor to see the portrait of our beautiful 1st lady @michelleobama 🥰 We watched the 15min short documentary and watching gave me more of an appreciation for the art and Amy’s journey. I am so glad I made it to the High for the last day of the exhibit ☺️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

9.8.26 one month from my birthday I did another thing…
I brought a house, went on vacation, got a tattoo 🤣🤣🤣

It’s so cute & tiny (the picture makes it looks larger than it is) Thank you @an.tatts for my 1st minimal tattoo…it takes precision to tattoo a tattoo that small with the script I wanted…I literally love it so much! 🔥🥰
