Ellada Charatsidou had little knowledge of Korea until she unexpectedly came across the 1950–53 Korean War as topic during the graduation project of her religious history course at a university in Greece.

What began as a chance academic topic not only introduced her to Korea but also led her to meet a visiting exchange professor from the country, a turning point that would ultimately reshape her academic and professional path. Recognizing her potential, the professor repeatedly encouraged Charatsidou to pursue her studies in Korea.

Once she had made up her mind to go to Korea, Charatsidou committed fully. She successfully secured the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), which was awarded to only two students in Greece at the time, completed a master’s degree in computational linguistics at Kyung Hee University, and went on to launch her career as an instructor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS).

Between friends or romantic partners or family I just think this is the most intimate thing when somebody is looking at you and tries to fix something on your hair or your face

To be loved is to be known and for someone to willingly have you in their mind while seeing something, and that something triggering an emotion they have for you or a memory they have with you or realizing this is something that you like because they know you is so intimate

This is the ultimate form of intimacy between two human human beings of any type of relationship

I don’t know what is about showing something to someone on your phone or your computer and them having to lean closer

The care, love and consideration that goes in this, the acts of service, physical touch, reassurance and intimacy this act holds is unbeatable.

I feel like general comfortability between two people creates natural form of physical contact. There is just something so beautiful and so intimate, and lovely when a person rests their chin on your head or on your shoulder

Your living space is one of the most personal most save corners of this earth for you, so opening up your home and giving them an actual tour, showing where you live, all of your trinkets and the whimsical parts of your home to someone, is so intimate

Being in crowded room among people you know or you don’t, sometimes can be daunting, so when you suddenly have eye contact with one person and they slightly smile at you, everything feels a lot warmer

Truly having interest in what you’re saying, maintaining eye contact and even if you’re interrupted, asking to continue what you were saying, is one of the most beautiful forms of intimacy and consideration

Hugging will always and always be intimate platonically, or romantically, however extra long hugs, especially when you need them just hit different

There’s something so different, something so personal in reading handwritten notes or letters. There’s so much personality that goes into them, so much character, so much intention
