Things I’ve needed this past week 🤍

A little comfort, a slower morning, good coffee, a few quiet moments, something to look forward to, and reminders that it’s okay to take a step back when life feels a little too much.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference. ✨

My favourite time of day? Coffee time. ☕️

There is just something about sitting down with a good coffee that makes everything feel a little better.

Whether it’s my first coffee of the morning, a quiet coffee shop in London, a little coffee break during a busy day, or simply taking a few minutes to myself, coffee has somehow become one of those small rituals I genuinely look forward to.

I love discovering independent coffee shops in London, finding cosy places to sit with a book, trying a new coffee spot, or going back to the same place because I already know exactly what I’m going to order.

And honestly, sometimes I don’t even need a reason to go out for coffee. Coffee time is the reason. 😂☕️

For me, exploring London isn’t always about the big sights or the famous places. Some of my favourite London moments are much simpler: a good coffee, a quiet corner, a little walk, a book in my bag and nowhere I particularly need to be.

That’s probably why coffee shops feature so often in my London life. They’re part of the everyday London experience I love sharing here, from hidden coffee spots and cosy cafés to those little places that make you want to stay for another cup.

So yes, my favourite time of day is definitely coffee time.

And if you’re also a coffee lover, I’m pretty sure we’ll get along. ☕️🤎

A little snapshot of my week 🍂

We’ve finally had a few little signs of autumn in London, and I’ve been making the most of them. There’s been a bit of shopping… although I’ve also been trying very hard not to shop too much 😂 A few things came home with me, while others were firmly left behind.

There have been slow breakfasts and brunches in local cafés, new books (always a weakness of mine 📚), and some delicious dinners along the way.

And honestly, this is exactly the kind of autumn I’m hoping for over the next few months: more cosy cafés, more books, more seasonal little finds, good food and those simple everyday moments that make this time of year feel special. 🍂☕️📚

Here’s hoping there’s plenty more autumn to come. 🤎 taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3

Hey, just passing by to show you the face of someone who is genuinely very happy because she bought a couple of cosy, autumnal books. 🍂📚

Sometimes I catch myself looking for the big successes: career milestones, new projects, ambitious goals, ridiculous challenges to take on, the next thing I should be achieving or ticking off the list.

And then there are moments like this.

A couple of new books, an autumn afternoon, and that very specific feeling of knowing you have something cosy waiting for you at home. 🤎

Apparently, I don’t always need a huge achievement to make me happy. Sometimes I just need to walk into a bookshop, find a couple of books that look exactly like the kind of stories I want to disappear into, and leave with them.

Cosy mysteries, autumn settings, probably a little too much coffee… honestly, I’m very easy to please. 😂☕️🍁

So yes, this is my current definition of success: a small pile of new books and a very happy face. 📚🤎

What can I say? Some days, the little things really are enough. taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3

The first shy signs of autumn are finally starting to appear in Richmond 🍂🍁

Not quite the full autumn transformation yet, but there are little hints everywhere: a few golden leaves, cooler air, and that slightly different feeling that tells you the season is slowly changing.

A late breakfast at a lovely local café, a little wander around Richmond, and one of those slow London days where there’s nowhere you need to rush to. ☕️🥐

I love this in-between stage of the season, when London is still partly green but autumn is quietly making its entrance. 🤎

More of this, please. 🍂 taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3

A little glimpse into my week in London 🤍

London streets I never get tired of, good food with my favourite person, little details that caught my eye, and a few things I really, really wanted… but didn’t buy. And honestly, I’m quite proud of myself. 😂

A book I wanted, another book I definitely didn’t need, and some absolutely gorgeous autumn decorations for the house that would have been completely useless.

I looked. I admired. I put them back. Progress. 😂🍂

I’m getting very good at this whole “do I actually need it?” thing.

Just a few little moments from my week in London. ☕️🍂🤎 by @ellie6th3

Maybe it’s the age, maybe it’s the autumn weather, but lately the idea of disappearing to a little cottage in the middle of nowhere sounds better and better. 🍂☕️

No noise. No rush. Just books, cosy evenings, long walks and absolutely nowhere to be.

Is this what getting older feels like? 😂 taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3

Random autumn things? Yes.

Pumpkin candles, cosy blankets, autumn colours, coffee, books, little seasonal finds… 🍂🎃

This is my therapy.

And honestly, I don’t think I need a prescription. 😂 taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3

I have officially autumnalised my bed. 😂🍂🎃

I went into @asda wandered into the George range and found this pumpkin-and-autumn 100% cotton bedding set: duvet cover, two pillowcases AND a fitted sheet.

And what exactly was I supposed to do?

Leave it there? 😂

The legend says that some people are capable of seeing autumnal bedding in a shop and simply walking away.

I don’t believe in legends.

And then I discovered the duvet cover + two pillowcases were only £6.50 in the sale.

SIX. POUNDS. FIFTY.

What was I supposed to do? Leave it there?! 😂🎃🍂

Anyway… my bed is now officially ready for autumn.

Even if London is still pretending it’s summer. 😂 taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3

My first proper autumn soup of the season 🍂🥣

You honestly can’t imagine how much I enjoyed this, curled up on the sofa watching an episode of a cozy mystery crime series.

And yes, it’s still 24°C in London 😂 but I didn’t care. I wanted to start the first day of autumn properly, and for me that obviously means soup, a cosy sofa and a good mystery.

Tonight’s choice was @heinz Pea & Ham Soup, and I have a feeling this is going to be the first of many lovely, comforting soups accompanying me through the winter. 🤎

⭐️ Autumn in London is all about the little things I love.

Cosy evenings at home, reading in bed or curled up on the sofa with a blanket, discovering new coffee shops, warm cinnamon rolls, pumpkin spice, soup, fluffy socks… and those rainy evenings when staying in is exactly where I want to be.

⭐️ And then there’s London in autumn. The colours, the parks, the streets… it really is beautiful.

⭐️ There’s something so special about getting my home ready for autumn. 🍂

I’ve only decorated a small part of the house so far, because honestly, if I could, I’d probably decorate every single corner! 😂 But even these little touches have already made it feel so much cosier.

I’m looking forward to slow evenings at home, candles on, a warm drink, a good book and that feeling of knowing there’s nowhere else I need to be.

And then, before I know it, it’ll be time for my Christmas-themed books, cosy winter evenings and all those little things that make this time of year so special. 📚🍁☕️

For now, I’m just going to enjoy autumn, one cosy evening at a time. 🤎 taken in London, United Kingdom by @ellie6th3
