9 months post op and i’m back twisting again!!
So so happy i’m still able to do some of my skills🧡 by @ellie_mcgh

Last January i tore my ACL and meniscus by doing a double at tumble. I landed on a straight leg and it popped sideways. I swelled up and i went to the hospital the next day due not being able to walk on it and they sent me for an MRI. Mr results came back and i got transferred to wrightington hospital to get my op done by a private doctor. I wasn’t able to compete with Ammo or team england at worlds and i was heartbroken yet i went and watched. I got my op date in September for my operation in october. i went for my op and it was all successful. In order to get sent home from the hospital that day i had to be able to climb the stairs and walk using crutches. The first time i tried i almost passed out from the pain but i got there eventually and got discharged that night. I woke up the next morning in the most pain i’ve ever been in. Simple tasks were becoming hard and i wanted to give up. i couldn’t move my leg out of the bed without help or get down and up the stairs. I struggled to sleep at night because the pain was so intense i couldn’t get comfy no matter what. I couldn’t bring myself to do my physio i used to try and avoid it because it was giving me a lot of pain and it was just as simple as getting my leg straight. Yet 4 weeks down the line i started feeling more normal and was able to go out and do more on crutches. At 6 weeks i got my crutches removed and i was able to walk again after feeling like i had retaught myself. Throughout the next 9 months i didn’t want to go back to cheer i just wanted my leg to feel normal again and be able to do things such as run jump and walk easily. Im now 9 months down the line and got the clear 2 weeks ago to standing tumble. So if your going through an injury and you feel like giving up, DONT because you will get there eventually even if it’s not easy. It was a long recovery and there was points where i wanted to give up due to being fed up yet i’m so glad i didn’t. I’ve now got a place to go to worlds again next year!!! by @ellie_mcgh

8 months after having my acl and meniscus reconstruction and i got the clear to start standing tumbling tonight!! hopefully within the next month i can running tumble🤞🏻It’s been a long physical and mental game but i’m finally slowly getting back into it❤️#comebackisgreaterthanthesetback by @ellie_mcgh
