when i was younger, i always said it was my dream to globe. it didn’t have to be a gold globe, just a globe. now i’ve done it twice. second in the world and there’s no other team i would have rather done it with. go watch nca day 2 then worlds day 2. from that day to yesterday, we had one roster change @samystar05 bc she is INCREDIBLE and had to fill a spot on lb. i truly believe the sisterhood and love we had for both cheer and each other gave us the grit and strength to make the decision to not let that performance define us. i have never seen a comeback as drastic and inspiring as sparkle’s this season. these girls are so incredible and strong. regardless of what people had to say about us, we came together and proved them wrong. not a lot of people could do what we did in one season. i hope every girl on sparkle this year takes the lessons we have learned and the people we have become into whatever you do next. you are all beautiful people who deserve every that is good in the world.

i was looking at old texts and found the one in the second picture from january 2021. cheering at the california all stars always felt like a dream that would never be possible for me to achieve. if you told that ellie that i just finished an entire season on mat on the california all stars sparkle, i would’ve laughed in your face. many people don’t understand how much this meant to me. wearing cali across my chest already felt like i was winning. we don’t have opportunities like this in nebraska. i never truly fit in at my old gyms. i was too serious and was passionate about cheerleading on teams where multiple people quitting midseason was normal. there just wasn’t many people who shared the passion i have for this sport. that is why sparkle 2022-2023 will always hold a special place in my heart. this group of athletes had the passion, drive, and talent to be one of the top teams in the division. i finally felt like a was on a team that saw me and wanted it as much as i did. it is so rewarding to be surrounded by people like that. thank you thank you thank you to all my teammates for making my dreams come true and making me feel at home at california all stars while being 1600 miles away from my family and friends back in nebraska. i will never forget this season. it is not about the medals or the wins, it’s about the journey and the friendships you make along the way and i will cherish the memories forever. sparkle, i love you. for eternity.💜✨ by @elliehahn
